Nice you can fit the sheer robes in, and I guess there are multiple ways of doing it.

I want to clarify I didn't change the Material entry in the proto for the sheer cloak, but the Item Material Slot. All the changes were made in the proto entry, I didn't need to alter the mesh or model at all.

Taking a copy of "Cloak of Resistance +1, White" here are the changes I made:

Proto Number: changed from 6671 to 6801
Object Name: changed from 6671 to 6801
Object Description: changed from 6671 to 6801
Object Model Mesh ID: changed from 12160 to 12016
Item Material Slot: from 14100 to a blank entry

And then I just renamed the description to "Cloak of Resistance +1, Sheer". I couldn't think of a better name, so feel free to change it to whatever sounds better.

I also added it into all the item crafting files, which I had never gotten into before. That was a fun exploration.

Great work on all those items btw, I hope they can fit into 8.1.1, or 8.2.0 or whatver is next. Are you the modder who first made all the different colored cloaks of resistance? When I first stepped away from the vanilla game and did the co8 stuuf, it was one of the first things I was exited about when I crafted cloaks for everyone. I was very happy weren't all going to be generically blue cloaked figures anymore. I think they were blue in vanilla at least. Been so long.:)

Oh; I think we actually changed the same thing. But, in Phalzyr's TOEE Proto Editor, which is what I use, the column with 13700 in it is labeled "Color" not Item Material Slot. The column immediately to its left is Equip Slot Flags. Also, at least in my proto, 13700 corresponds to the black cloaks, not the white ones. Still, it worked out :)

Yeah, that was me. I made it as a separate mod, "Technicolor Dreamcloaks", and then Gaear incorporated it into the main release. Glad it's been appreciated.

I think the original color is the one now labeled as "Light Blue".

EDIT: Let me know if there is anything, besides cloaks of resistance, that you think would particularly benefit from having an "invisible" version of.

Yeah, white is 14100, and black is 13700, I analyzed and typed in haste. :dizzy: I changed it to the right number in my post above.

If you haven't tried it, you should give the proto editor in the World Builder a try, I think it's a big step up from the one you are using. But maybe you are more comfortable with the original.

I was trying to stay away from the word "invisible", so as to not make it look like some kind of combo cloak of invisibility and resistance at the same time, and "sheer" was the best word I could think of. But now that has me thinking, maybe an Elven Cloak of Arachnida Invisibility Resistance +6 Charisma +6 would make a nice epic find somewhere.;)

"Transparent" is the best non-"invisible" word I can think of. Not sure if I prefer it to "invisible", but I get your point.

You should definitely use WorldBuilder for proto editing. Not only is it better, but ProtoEd can be wonky/unstable, and in ways that may not manifest clearly or immediately. I don't think we really even consider it legit anymore, honestly. It was great for its day as the original tool, but times change. Gotta roll with 'em. ;)

And to think, I did the original "Technicolor Dreamcloaks" using TextPad =D.

Still, your advice is heard, and accepted. I'm installing it now, and I'll go ahead and re-do the changes I made to protos.tab for my items mod using WorldBuilder; though I hadn't noticed any problems, if you say they are sometimes not apparent, better safe than sorry.
