Okay..you got me. I can't limerick at all... The modders at Circle of Eight once had a famous debate To rhyme is the reason but this ain't the season So let's all fish or cut bait!
Okay- was gone for a couple days... Cuch- no, I am not planning the BP for the night before, it will either be this Saturday, or Monday the 20th. Monday because a couple of the guys going to the BP will crash at my place and we will all go to pick up our Tuxes together (the town is about 2 hrs away). Spike- I DO know a Pedro or two, but can't really say I know yours... I am in Eastern North Carolina, in a military town called Jacksonville The only Pedro I can remember right this second works for the same company I do, but in another town, see him at meetings sometimes. We were in the same Manager-in-Training class together. And to end the Haiku-Limerick debate- for my SECOND wedding, I combined the two! I composed my wedding vows in 5 Haikus in rhyming limerick fashion. So there!! (HONEST!) Yep 3 little lines (with the 5,7,5 pattern) made up each line of the limerick, which made up my professing of undying love for ex-wife #2. Needless to say, the neatness didn't work, the love died, about 5 months after she left me.
This is Pedro...if you were from another military NC town, you might know this. You're close, but not exactly spittin' distance.
Huh? Wilmington?! Where'd that come from? I meant Fayetteville. Ft. Bragg? 82nd Airborne? They're just up the road from Ol' Pedro there, who is just up the road from me. Wilmington is hours away.
Also, Fort Bragg is the home of the Green Beret [the Special Forces] and other components of the US Army 1st Special Operations, now - the US Army Special Forces. Special Forces are Special Operations Force (SOF) units that are specifically trained for unconventional warfare and special operations and are used during peacetime, conflict, and war. There are none who are more brave and honorable, even unto death as needed. **************************************** "Fighting soldiers from the sky, Fearless men who jump and die, Men who mean just what they say The brave men of the Green Beret. Silver wings upon their chests, These are men, America's best, One hundred men we'll test today, But only three win the Green Beret." "Trained to live off nature's land, Trained in combat, hand to hand, Men who fight by night and day, Courage take from the Green Beret. Silver wings upon their chests, These are men, America's best, Men who mean just what they say, The brave men of the Green Beret." "Back at home a young wife waits, Her Green Beret has met his fate, He has died for those oppressed, Leaving her this last request: Put silver wings on my son's chest, Make him one of America's best, He'll be a man they'll test one day, Have him win the Green Beret." **************************************** Green Beret wear the following patch below, attached.
Wilmington is the closest thing to "the border" of S.C. to me, so I thought that was where you were talking about. Yeah Fayetteville is about 2.5 hours away- I have been there a few times. Got an ex- brother-in-law there and my Dist Off for work is there. As for the 82nd... well I received my combat patch from 101st in Ft. Campbell's run with Saddam the first go around. 101st just LOOKS better! Besides we were the Ace of Spades of Death in Vietnam (that was years before my time though)
