    I have located the Gnolls in Temple level 1 which have DR. However I still can't find the reason for this in protos.tab
    Any ideas how to go about correcting this, other than deleting mc_subtype_gnoll?

    Ok, just had a crazy idea. What about if we put -5/Bludgeoning on Gnolls to counter the 5/Bludgeoning?
    Tried that, altering all Gnolls in protos.tab. Luckily it didn't crash the system.:p

    Retested the Gnoll without 5/Bludgeoning and the Gnoll now receives an extra +5 damage from slashing weapons from damage roll hypertext. I would expect it to receive +5 from any other weapon except blunt weapons. The screen hypertext for the main d20 window is however now extremely messed up. :p

    Retested the Gnoll WITH 5/Bludgeoning and... nothing happened.
    The Gnoll STILL retains 5/Bludgeoning but there is no record of my changes of -5/Bludgeoning having taken effect.

    Which brings me to the conclusion that the Gnoll that you see may look like a Gnoll, may be named as a Gnoll but is NOT a Gnoll in protos.tab.
    It may be a Skeleton Gnoll or something else. But having made changes to all Gnolls do not affect them. In other words, the Gnoll that receives 5/Bludgeoning is probably not coded by:
    {14066}{Gnoll Leader}
    {14067}{Gnoll}
    {14078}{Gnoll}
    {14079}{Gnoll}
    {14080}{Gnoll}

    Any suggestions now?

    EDIT: Tried editing out every 5/Bludgeoning I could find in protos.tab (4 occurrences). Retested and that damn Gnoll STILL has 5/Bludgeoning. ???
    I'm out of ideas for now....

    EDIT2: Tried taking out mc_subtype_gnoll as well and it didn't work. Am I missing something??

    did you try looking in any of the .mes files that you can access by extracting the .dat files?

    Boy, sure would be nice if troika would release an SDK.

    I mean, it's THEIR engine, they wouldn't have to put the SDK through Atari. BUT NOOOOOOOO they're too busy with some vampire game.
