The change to black jay's ring quest workes great for good aligned party. Kobold was gone and ring encounter showed where it was suposed to for good parties.
the following is what I sent to Ted well it seems ted did have a few ideas for the witch altho she was sposed to be tied in with the giants.
Yeah...but we're talking about a dragon that has JUST moved to Imeryd's Run, not one that has lived there for hundreds of years. Now, he is a young adult...and may be "old" by human standards...but he's only going to have partial treasure in any hoard he might have someplace else due to his age and this is per the rules. Allyx...that's going to be a shitload of TFD's to move any size dragon hoard. Anybody else care to chime in on this? I just don't think he needs that much stuff, is all. Ruf...sounds like you've got something up your sleeve. Care to share?
Baba Yaga? In Hommlet!?! Just out of curiosity, why would people be giving booze to giants? It would make them easier to kill once they pass out, I guess. I do like the idea of the giants coming to find out what happened to "Pa". He was doing just fine until he stopped writing one day...
If the dragon just moved in, he'll probably have some gems (stuck in his hide) and maybe a couple of magical items he can use (bracers, a ring or an amulet, something that magically re-sizes and would fit a on a dragon) since he'd be wearing it all the time anyway. But nothing "wasteful" that a more nested dragon would have collected.
Why does the dragon have to be moving in? Maybe he's just looking for a tasty (behemoth) frog, or (giant) gar, or lizard (man) passel, to hold him over until dinner? Are black dragons too proud to scarf carrion? (The carrion angle would explain the respawing, i.e. after all the swamp monsters are dead, angle of the story.) Alternately, maybe he was driven out of his old lair by a larger dragon poaching for treasure, and that could explain his hoardlessness. You could even have a conversation set up for him before the (inevitable, probably) combat, where he tells his tale of woe (and surreptitiously buffs). If y'all were interested in that last option, and needed me to, I'd even write the dialogue.
I'm not one to turn down any offer of help, this is after all a collaboration. Go ahead and whip some dialog up. I hadn't really gotten around to trying to fit the dragon with any plot lines yet. Although I have to agree with Spike about a small horde and medium sized dragon. To fit in with the character levels. I really feel like a large Dragon Horde should be the prize for a module or large quest where the focus of the story is the Dragon and he is not just an incidental character, being used to support a different main focus. No dragon I ever heard of had no treasure, but where does it say you have to be able to retire after you meet one. Thanks for the offer smg225, when your done with the dialog, post it here as a .txt file if you don't mind. For the prespawn of the Ogre Cave, I am leaning towards Orcs, as Hobgoblins have a known faction bug, I'm going to put a leader, shaman, supporting orcs and the a 1/2 orc assassin. Into the proto and then post it here so Kalshane can take a look at them if he doesn't mind and get them compliant. Also if anyone has any ideas about how to equip them, That would be a help. What is in fashion for a well dressed Orc Shaman this season? @spike on another matter the letter should be in the next set of cumlative fixes, it is done and I have finished testing on it.
If and when you guys actually complete this, we could try to get Zorn & Co. to do a dragon voice for that final touch of realism. Let me know how it goes.
Frank is in the can; and Rannos Davl finally got that line of his done. On the downside, several attempts at others failed miserably. Kella as a "girled up guy" sucked (no puns, please...) Falrinth was crappy, as was Deggum & Barkinar. Zorn's going to get more talent, cause we are at our limit. He may have 1,000 voices, but alas, there are far fewer in the House of Spike. Do, or do not; there is no "try."
Ok, here's a (super) rough draft. I realize as I post it now I've written out only the dialogue for good-aligned parties. But I'd like a little feedback before I go on, as to whether how I've written it is possible, before I continue.
Dragons, dragons, get your black dragons here... View attachment blackdragon.zip One Young Adult Black Dragon, per the 3.5 rules, with adjustments to the CR, HD and Will Save for the Wizard Level I had to give it to refect its spell-casting abilities. Protos # 14991. It currently has no AI or treasure, pending the decisions about the encounter, and is in desperate need of a breath weapon.
I think I can make the breath weapon, but the spell graphics are going to be a problem. Any suggestions as to which spell particles look closest to a steam of acid would be appreciated.
