I think that the starting shopmap caravan should:

  1. Be changed from an NPC encounter to a formal instruction format.

I'll second that - no-one was gien any options with KotB, and I haven't had a single complaint about that.

(And for the record a shop interior - a building - makes sense to me).

It wasn't meant as a complaint. Sometimes I just start thinking too many steps down the road. I should probably finish up some of my current projects before adding more to the list.

@Gaear -- I did *not*mean to sound like I was asking you how to de-select a mod you hadn't even written in the thread where you were just asking if anyone was interested.

No worries, thearioch. There's no need to tiptoe around us, btw. We're all of the same measure here, so if we ever seem like we're being 'leet' the best thing to do is tell us to go to hell like HK does. :p ;)

The new shopmap is inching nearer to completion every day, so I'd like to bring the list of needed inventory icons in post 33 to the forefront again. Any progress on these, HK-maggit-et al?

I'll take the leather brigands armor and the druid hide. I can't still see the oriental garb, it looks like a elven chail for me, so i dunno... i let the original mesher Magster, do the heavy burden :p Of course, if you can't for any reason, maggit, letme know and i'll make them. :)

One reason I can't do it is that my Photoshop has gone corrupt and I can't
seem to reinstall it without reinstalling the OS. :/

    @Gaear

-can we have different models for armor and archery bracers? There are 2 different bracers, with 5 variations each, still we only see the silver & red model.

-There are 5 different icons for slings. One could be the masterwork version.

-Not a big deal, but there's also 5 icon models for javelins/shortspears. They could be normal/masterwork/lightning .

    Now, about your requests:

-The oriental garb it's the green elven chain with white sleeves and skirt and without shoulderpads, right?

-Which "Cujo's scale mail variation" you mean? The gladiator armor has already an icon.

-Hide and Druid armor look the same in-game, so the icon should stay the same (in any case, i could add some small detail)...unless you're willing to add new models ;)

If you mean real in-game models, then feel free to make whatever you like. However, I can't guarantee that that stuff will make it into the mod anytime soon, since the nuts and bolts aspect of integrating new models into the game is such a horrific process. In fact, none of the other stuff you've done along those lines is in yet, and there's a very high likelihood that it won't be going in, at least by my hand. :(

I already made some changes with 'extra' stuff like that, though I can't remember if they included those items. I'll check, thanks. :)

I think that's about right, but I haven't looked at it in a while. I'll post a screenie of it here later.

I believe the one I was referring to is the model for sexy babes - bares the midriff and looks like something Red Sonja would wear. The male version might not be any different from regular scale mail.

Okay. A small varaiation would be nice for the icon though, so people can see some distinction in the shopmap barter screen. [- edit: I see you already did that.]

Thanks for the other stuff btw. List to be updated shortly ...

Funny you should mention the 1-handed spear. It just so happens that D&D 4E finally got it right. The Javelin and the Shortspear are the same weapon (1-handed simple weapon, thrown, 1d6 dam), the Spear (just as I said it should) remained a Simple Weapon, 1d8 damage, no range increment. The Longspear remained as well, but was upgraded to 1d10 and made a martial weapon (since its basically a Pike/Sarissa). Now, I'm sure there are those that will balk, but I think it speaks for itself that only 1 of 5 editions (OD&D, AD&D, AD&D 2E, D&D 3.X and D&D 4E) has the Spear been mislabeled as a 2-handed weapon. I would ask that the Spear of Keoland not be dumped from the shopmap since its in fact not in any way, shape or form a game breaking weapon.

Yes, horrific it's a good word for that.
My mistake, i didn't meant in-game models, i meant inventory icons. In any case, just tell me and i'll do some new stuff.

    Aah, i see.
Well, those arent dogboy's work, they're original stuff. (Btw, he suggested a small mod for naked female versions, this means boobs free and happy, if female charcters aren't wearing anything. It would be quite easy to make.)

Ok, no problem, i'll make them. :)

The black dress in-game model differs from females to males, but since it's a "noble" clothes, it just leave him as another suit of those.

I'll post the other later :)

And, just to be a PITA:
-could you check the "dominate monster" and "dismissal"wands? Last time i've tried to use them, they had a DC save of 1, so they're useless. Scrools seem to work fine.
-There are some wrong descriptions. Using WB it's relatively simple to spot them, since you got the list to the left, and the description to the right, you simply need to scroll down...can someone fix those?

The question is though, is it exotic? (I don't mean in the strict D&D definition, but is it 'unusual,' 'wonderful,' 'uncommon,' unorthodox?' We're trying to get away from stuff like that in the shopmap, focusing more on things like the wider range of clothing colors now avaialable for character customization from the outset.

In that case, yes, we can have all the bracer inventory icons you care to make. :)

Wow, I've been laboring under that misconception since 2005 then. :eek:_O: At any rate, we could still use a separate icon so people know what they're buying before they put it on.

Will check the wands, although I'm not a wand expert.

Well I was actually quite wrong about the Zweihander, and I did sneak the spear into KotB under the name 'pilum', albeit you only encounter them on NPCs, not in shops (for memory).

Nothing unusual. I don't see a problem with it.
In fact, it works as a simple longsword that does piercing damage (it has the same stats).
I think it's quite cool, i used to have my barbarian with a modified keolander spear and a shield. And we have plenty of unused models already in there.
If you're thinking about 'unusual,' 'wonderful,' 'uncommon,' unorthodox', first thing in mind it's the cleaver. ;) Still, everyone likes it (not me)

The ones already in ToEE1 are a match for the starburst copper medallion, but with 5 different models (they range in color from yellow to red, as the bonus increases, same for the usual known bracers), i wonder what Troika had planned with them. maybe they're specific from the module?
In any case, they're already used in some Co8 items, like bracers of dawn, so it wouldn't be a problem to make only two for archery :)

Well, they're rarely seen in Vanilla, they spawn randomly in Otis shop, and until you buy one, you don't know what youre using. I got quite surprised, when i found one (just one in four runs of Vanilla). I'm not sure, but i think they counted as masterwork versions for females. And not much use neither, but that's the deal with armors: the better, the rare.

Oh, btw, there's a unused shield, white with a blue dragon...i think it's "celtic-2". Also...are the 4 or 5 different ornated hammers used in game?

    @Ted

You can still have something like the Zweihander, the Ogre sword, it's absolutely RAW (i should check the book Arms and equipment guide, but i don't have it with me now)
Also, the pilum does 1d6 damage RAW, but i think the keolander spear deals 1d8...

Don't worry, the cleaver won't be in there. Although it's name implies something much more mundane - a tool used to cut meat - than Spear of Keoland, which sounds like something very specific and unique.

Right-O on the bracers, shield, skimpy scale mail, etc. Not sure about the hammers.

Oh and thanks for the last bunch of icons. I forgot to post the oriental outfit, will do later. :)

I always wondered what the keolander spear do...till i looked at protos.
Cheated like hell, now it's a keen, poisoning spear ;)
About the cleaver...well, i never liked cos it looks too orcish for my tastes.

I'm about to post post a new pack of stuff, included a new model of bracers with two "levels" of power. And a new tribal necklace, i always confuse the normal with the amulet of natural armor. :raving:
Also, it's the Belt of giant strength still looking like gauntlets? I could make some belt icons, there are only two (which i don't know if they re equipable atm -they should-).

Go to art/meshes/weapons, you'll see at the end that there are some ornated models for hammers.

Ok, don't bother :) I'll just add white sleeves to the icon. In any case, i'm working on a bunch of oriental robes, both chinese and japanese style-like, for future releases. :)
