File conflicts & Protos.tab thread

    In an effort to address this proto-commonality issue, I intend to increase the rate of CMF releases to one every two weeks, time and availability permitting (and provided there have been new mods submitted).

    I also now have a master CMF directory set up on my system, into which new mods will be file-compared and integrated, as opposed to just copied over with updated files. Hopefully this will add to CMF stability overall. (Beyond Compare really is a wonderful thing.) :)

    :gotmyatte Also, be advised that if anything in this thread wasn't posted in the CMF thread, it ain't in the CMF now. At this point, I still can't think of a workable solution to make this situation any better (beyond the above-mentioned measure). I can't realistically go searching hither and yon for other stuff that was meant to be included, at least not without dramatically increasing the time required to manage this stuff (and I've got other irons in the fire that require my attention as well), so for now, be sure to put anything you want included in the CMF in the CMF thread. :yes:

    Here is a little contribution. This is a simple change to get Lareth to come out of his room in the event of combat: it runs off the enter_combat thing of the last crossbowman in the hallway, so if you have intimidated the guy at the door and just strolled up the hallway, Lareth will still be in his room and you run into Seluecas and he challenges you. However, if you have fought your way up the hallway (but without dragging the rest of the guards into the fight), Lareth will walk out of his room to see what the commotion is and unless you charge pell-mell straight into the next room, there is a very good chance he will be standing there among his men. For that matter, even if you do drag the other guards into it, once combat is over he will probably still come out while you are looting the corpses :)

    This is not the be-all-and-end-all of what should be done with Lareth - when Seleucas challenges you, he will still call 'to the door' even if Lareth is right there near him, that sort of thing - but that is just fiddling the dlg files. I've done the hard part :)

    2 mobs and a new script file included, for whoever wants to use it to do whatever they want with it. The guard's new enter_combat script is added with Ag's script override tool so no changes in protos.tab. Currently there are particles attached - 1 to indicate the guard is firing his script, the other to indicate he has found Lareth and turned on his waypoints. Lareth has been moved in his room nearer the wall so the guard can find him in vicinity, and re-oriented to still be facing the door.
