    I would urge caution here. I recall that Liv was seriously considering having Lareth come out, but there were some inherant problems with it. I don't recall exactly what they were. It was probably discussed in one of the pages-long threads concerning her mod(s).

    Cujo...

    All natural die roll results that constitute a threat when rolled for an attack roll. For most weapons, the threat range is 20, but some weapons have threat ranges of 19-20 or 18-20. Any attack roll that does not result in a hit is not a threat, whether or not it lies within the weapon's threat range.

    Hatori Hanzo swords would have 3 times the normal threat range for a standard Katana.

    IMO, 'Sharpness' would be a better attribute than 'Keen' any day, 'cause when a blade of sharpness does its work, parts are coming off of some bodies...but I don't know if such rules still exist in 3.5. I even like it better than vorpal as an attribute.

    Gaear...a better fix might be to give one of his followers spell casting abilities, like an apprentice might have; or just add an apprentice out in the room. I'd also give Lareth a spider pet or two, just to make his fight more interesting...Lolth is always watching. And did I mention he dual wields his staff & a mace? The guy's got skills in the module, seems like he needs them in a 'mod', too!

    ok so at the moment the critical hit threat range for a katana is 19, what way would it go to be 3x more? 16? 22? :shrug:

    And this is the choices for weapons;
    To Hit Bonus, Weapon Chaotic, Weapon Defending Bonus, Weapon Enhancement Bonus, Weapon Flame Tongue, Weapon Flaming, Weapon Frost, Weapon Holy, Weapon Icy Burst, Weapon Keen, Weapon Lawful, Weapon Masterwork, Weapon Silver, Weapon Unholy

    A Katana has a threat range of 2 numbers; 19 and 20.

    A Keen Katana would have a threat range of 4 numbers: 17, 18, 19, 20.

    A +3 Keen Katana with Mighty Cleaving would be a good way to simulate an uber Hatori Hanzo Katana, but if you want a 3x threat range weapon then it would be 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. That's a 25% chance of a critical on every blow, which is massive.

    Technically, it's a 25% chance of a critical threat with every blow. You still have to confirm the threat to get a crit. (And the 15 has to be good enough to hit in the first place, etc.)
