I've never heard of anything like you describe with the EC. Without knowing more, I'd suggest you simply deactiavte the module (by activating a different one, such as vanilla) and then reactivate the module. Something is obviously very wrong. Also, you will have to start a new game.
thats sad if i select the vanilla, i wouldnt be able to use my previous saves, right? oh well, i will continue without the chest, then. it actually very powerfull, if you think. it hits most of the times (i dont know what hit, but the npcs and monsters loose 4-8 hp)! if its possible, i would like to send a save file or something so you could at least see how weird the thing is
Anyone know where the save files for the Chest are? I transfered my game to the laptop by installing fresh along with Co8 mods and copy/pasting my Saves folder but now on my laptop the EC is empty on all saved games. ALL the stuff I had in it is gone. On my pc all is well like it should be. So I figure there has to be a save file that tracks the EC inventory and it isnt in the Saves folder. Anyone who knows which file I need to copy over would be my hero.
Playing this game, I found the mini chest on the group of undead. But I've postponed that particular game, and now I'm playing Iron man mode. My Priest of Pelor obliterad the undead with a Greater Turning, and now, no mini chest. Still the scrolls remain to acquire, so all is not lost.
As far as I know there are only three files that make up a save game and they are all located in the same spot.
The chest is a Co8 addition. It is available in each game, in the same spot, though it is a bit easy to kinda "bypass it" if you don't think about it, or remember exactlly where you found it. Just use one of the scrolls and cast it to get a chest, no worse than that. Unless memory serves, even a level 1 caster should be able to cast the spell from the scroll, if not you can always use a rogue or bard with use magical devise skill to fake it. Not really any point in having multiple chests anyways. Just remember to always unsummon it after you used it, so you don't have to travel entire Temple through level for level trying to figure out where the heck you "forgot" it the last time.
I'm pretty sure the spell when cast from a scroll or memory costs 500 gold, (spell components are expensive). One of the nicer changes to the chest is that now if you try to summon it when you left it elsewhere, you'll get a message telling you where you left it.
Casting the spell (from scroll or otherwise) costs 5,000 gold, so it's relatively important to pick up the "free" one early in the game. Once you have cash to burn, copying the spell into your spelllbook can pay off. Multiple chests can vastly increase the time between trips back to town to sell loot.
I didn't know you could have multiple chests. I didn't know what to do with the scrolls, either. What happens if you leave the chest on a random map? Is it lost forever?
You'll want to avoid any one character having more than one chest. It's doable, but avoid the radial menu if you do. If you leave the chest on a random encounter map, I think it will be lost forever (only because the "map" is temporary). If you leave it on a regular map, like Sirchet said, the game will now tell you which one (it didn't do that before version 6.something I think).
It's a bug that casting the spell from a scroll costs gold, because the gold cost has already been paid when the scroll was created.
