It's not that much of a task. Basically adding the same line of code to a relevant scripts and some matching dialogue. If the community wants it, it can be done.

If changes are to be made to the Temple 4th level, for what it's worth I would like to see more changes to Liv's trap. Even with the recent fixed dialogs I can't get it to work. Maybe it's just me. I hate that thing.

You sure the dlg files are installed correctly? ;)

Thinking of ways to change Liv's trap (and the dlg should be working - think laterally a little bit) but it's getting the things to work properly. Have been playing with 2 more solutions to getting past it but neither are working properly yet. :pinkkirby

The "fixtolivstrap" installation has worked for me so far. I'm using 5.0.4 and I installed this fix afterward and It has worked once so far. I'm in the process of seeing if it works again in a another new game.

Yes, I am sure I installed the trap fix correctly. (I fixed it when I fixed the Bing w/timer mod, )

I guess maybe I'm not sure what exactly I need to do with it. I got the dialog options with the trolls, and I got the password from them, but I can't figure out how to use that knowledge. I still wasn't able to do anything with the control box, so I don't know. Maybe I'm just dense...

Even if everything works, I still hate that thing.

I hate it too, Erkper, but remember the community's decision a while back: it stays. Too bad - it's pretty much the only case I can think of in Co8's history where we've knowingly decided to add a bug to the game. :shame:

Cerulean the Blue once talked about getting around the trap and said, "There is combat mode. Some clever and creative individual even found a way to deactivate it with a spell. There are ways to buff your rogues ability. If your wizard or sorcerer doesn't have the spell, and you can't get it from Skole, pick up another NPC, hit some random encouters until you can level them up enough to get the spell, scribe it and give it to your wizard or socerer."

I think a few more 'lateral' options to get round it may be a good thing. The one thing I am definitely going to be changing is the auto-destroy thing to picking the trap - or at least signposting what will happen far more clearly and adding in another way which doesn't rely on the boxes to get past it (or joining up with the temple heh).

Don't say Liv's name too loud or she appears ;)

Personally, I love the trap, but things can always be improved.

Let's not forget that combat starting when entering a building in Hommlet could also be from casting what you'd think is a friendly use of a spell on someone in town where the game interprets and treats using the spell as an attack.
