Do I use my cell phone while driving? Sometimes Drive while under the influence? Not any more. Steer with my knees? Never tried that one. Drive a nerdy car? I suppose I do nowadays.
as rocktoy said, its a reflex, I sometimes even indicate when taking a 90 degree bend in the road. I often steer with my knees.
Do I use my cell phone while driving? Yes, but only with my inbuilt hands free system. Drive while under the influence? Never. I was seventeen when I first attended a friend’s funeral that was killed in a car crash while driving drunk. I still do some part time truck driving (for fun), so I do not want to risk my license (one will automatically lose it, if found DUI). But I love my beer as much as the next man, so I own a breathalyzer. Steer with my knees? Can’t do that with European cars, we do not have that kind of power steering, it would be too dangerous to drive those in wintertime. Drive a nerdy car? What is a nerdy car? Mine is a year 2000 BMW 525iA with the E39 chassis, is it a nerdy car?
Some vehicular-related laws can be enforced on private property. (Try parking in a handicapped spot to test that.) Also, while it's not likely that you will be harassed for driving the wrong way in a supermarket lot, if you cause an accident because of it, your wrongful driving will be taken into account (assuming it can be demonstrated) and you may be found liable.
I support laws concerning handicapped parking; however it irritates me no end that someone can paint arrows on the parking lot and then you 'have' to follow them. I generally try to be law-abiding, but that one just gets me. I suppose it's along the same principle as putting up a no trespassing sign. Still offends me. It must say something about my personality, I guess.
Re: Irrelevant Tangents You can actually get a ticket for not following the lines. The lanes in a parking lot are the same as a lane on a road. The parking lot design had to be submitted for approval to the AHJ, (authority having jurisdiction) and the contractor has very specific guidelines to adhere to. Parking lots are just like any other structure built in America, it has certain codes it must adhere to. So, be careful when you take the "short-cut". :mrhappy:
In Texas, a license to operate a motor vehicle (of a specified type) in the State of Texas. Special provisions have to be specified if a state regulation doesn't apply on private property. Furthermore, a private property owner can further restrict vehicle usage on his land. So: 1. I STILL have to stop and render aid if I run over a bunch of nuns on a private parking lot. And: 2. I can't park my car in someone's bedroom, if they say I can't. What's the point to even driving at all?
