I know there's not much hope, but I thought I might as well ask...Has anyone identified why the hell this game is so hardware intensive? I have a freaking Athlon 64 FX-55, a Radeon X800XT, 1GB RAM and it can (and will, a lot) pause for more than 20 seconds (!!!!!) in the Fire Node. I've had it on 1280x1024x32 with AA, but I've been forced to turn it down to 1024x960x32 without AA. And it STILL stutters (perhaps too gentle a word!). What gives?
Is this with or without a no-cd patch? I'm not into piracy, but SecuROM is a horrible, horrible joke on legitimate purchasers of the game. Using no-cd improves the game's performance big-time as SecuROM is kept from running "interference" in the background the entire game. -- joshua
your lucky the lag is only for 20 seconds, I've smoked multiple cigarettes in the time it takes my computer to let me get back to the fire node!
