Hey all, I recently tried porting my ToEE game to my laptop by simply copying the game's program files folder via flash drive. I know this is not the ideal way to do things, but I didn't want to muck with repatching and stuff. Game runs just fine insofar as startup, running without crashing, saving, fighting battles, talking, etc., but the graphics are seriously messed. I've got my party members not showing up and walking around as disembodied cloaks and such (no, this is not just the permanent invisibility bug all over again). In addition, the blue circles that mark where you're moving to only show up when they're BEHIND something, that is, when they should NOT show up. Weird. Any thoughts on why this is happening or how I can fix it? Specs of my machine: Windows XP Professional sp2 Intel Core Duo T7100 1.8 GHz Intel Mobile 965 Express Chipset (drivers updated) Specs of my ToEE: Pretty simple, and I know it runs great on my desktop, and this is an exact copy ToEE from the box (not jewel case or download) Atari Patch 2 Temple.zip fix Humble NPC Patch That's it!
Did you play ToEE on the flashdrive on another computer before doing that? If this is the case it may be a problem with graphics card differences... you might try changing graphics options... if that doesn't help try installing ToEE in a directory other than your pasted one and patch it with Atari patch 2. Then run it. After doing that try copying your data\ and modules\ folder from the copied one into the game... then clear your cache (I know, I know Ted). It might just work... but I can't guarantee anything... it may be simpler to do a re-install.
So finally got my wiggy discs to install the game properly on the laptop. The above problem has recurred. Party members are invisible 90% of the time, unless behind a wall where they should be invisible, in which case they're not. Of the 10% of the visible cases there's either limbs/head missing, or else just clothing floating around with no body inside. As this happened after the install and after a straight flashdrive transfer, I have to assume this is a conflict with my system? Any thoughts at all? This is sooooo weird. Funny, but weird. :suprised:
well I would say that your game can't find the tga's associated with your PCs race. Are NPCs invisible as well?
If you have it set to use 32-bit color graphics, maybe try lessening the display setting to use 16-bit color graphics, instead, and see how that works for you. otherwise.. Intel Graphics Media Accelerator driver for Windows XP (and Windows 2000) Date:2/15/2008 Multi language: win2k_xp1433.exe (DOWNLOAD) * This is only a 32-bit version of driver download, specifically, for Windows XP (and 2000).
I'm away from the laptop for a couple of days, but I'll try this out when I get back to it. Thanks. :nervous:
Thanks Krunch. That (the driver) actually worked perfectly. Huh. I updated the drivers, but I guess it didn't catch this one. Anyway, thanks a million. Laptop ToEE at last!!
