Since there is a major issue, do these things in the order they are listed. 1. Open Add or Remove Programs from the Control Panel. 2. Scroll down the list. Select and uninstall the Co8 5.0.0 MOD. 3. Then, select and uninstall the ToEE game. 4. Open Windows Explorer and delete the Atari folder and all of its content. 5. (recommended) Reboot the computer. 6. Install the game from CD disk and use the default path. 7. Patch it by running the Atari Patch1 and, after that, run the Atari Patch2. 8. Run the Co8 5.0.0 MOD executable file. (Use the same installation path). 9. Start the Front End. Select the Co8-5.0.0 option. Start the game using the Launch the Temple of Elemental Evil button in the ToEE Front End. Let ToEEFE make the big file. Then, immediately after the game has started, quit the game using the quit option in the game menu. 10. Extract a copy of the content of the Co8 5.0.5 CMF to the game program folder...to the folder where the game was installed.
Hello again, I'm running through TOEE again using 5.0.5. I did a clean install and it seems to work with 2 exceptions. I don't get the Big Three confrontation at the back of the Moathouse (dealt with in a different thread). More importantly, I still can't get to Verbobonc. The same issue, they join my party as NPCs but never take me to town. Very sure I've meet all criteria for going. I did a complete campaign using 5.0.0 previous to trying 5.0.5 again and it worked. Any ideas? Thanks.
I did a clean install and the game works fine in most aspects I can even get to verbonc BUT I have been plagued with inauspiciouuse crashes intermittinely eveywhere randomely during the entire game! certain little things set it off but not always its compleately random like I go to save and boom ever once in a wile crashes, or I go to learn a bunch of spells and after I get through like more than 5 spells it will crash, Like I said the install is clean and the game works I just have to fight it to make it anywhere and be persistant with all the random crashes is there anything I might try to rid myself of the random crash plague I don't want to reinstall but I will if you think it may help?
Way to resurrect a year-old topic. Use the latest 5.5.0 pack - nobody will help you with the old one.
