Darley, worst built sorceress ever

Not to add oil to the fire, but maybe you didn't manage to maximize her ability to make it fun?

 

^IMO, those kinds of items are few and far in between enough to waste some gold or take them back to town later to identify on the first playthrough.

 

i have sold a few of those unidentified back when I was a noob. Because I assumed them to be non magical because they didn't say magical, and because the first few named items i encountered were not.
If you already KNOW then you don't even NEED detect magic because you know which is which. But if you don't know, then the spell is useful.

 

Ok, I have the answer to the origional question. Why does Darly suck?

The answer simply is that she is not a sorceress. She is a alu-demon with spell like abilities. Trokia presumably just made her a sorceress as a easy way to give her the powers she gets, and so they didn't have to give her monster levels which I'm guessing would cause problems for a NPC.

I was wondering about Ashrem though - shouldn't he have domain spells? Or did he lose them when he fell out of favour with Zuggy?

 

That's quite interesting. You would think all 4 of them high temple priests would be significantly tougher and higher level and whatnot considering their goddess is right underneath their feet.

Also, if they were to fall from grace in Zuggtmoy's eyes, would she just let them be in the temple or would she play pick up sticks with their bodies and torture their souls in really not good ways?

 

^ Well, being stuck in the Nodes is torture enough. I've always wondered what those people eat there, lol.

And well, the priests really should be stronger, hopefully someone does that for NC patch.

 

She has Chaos, Evil and Plant spheres and lots of other neat PC killing stuff. Here's a link to cleric domains...

After looking at the chaos, evil and plant domains, the temple priests should cast Blasphemy from the evil domain, until they are defeated. :yes:

And have Zuggtmoy summon 2 balors for the end fight. And 100 HD of plant monsters.

Oh, and she casts spells as a 29th level cleric/sorcerer. Giggity. "I wish you were all grass!" And then she whips out her +6 vorpal lawnmower. She's fat though, weighing over 2,000 pounds. Probably gets winded kinda quickly.

This explains why she is such a terrible sorceress
this raises an interesting problem though, she continues to gain spells as a sorceress via levels 11 through 20. And I am seriously doubting she is supposed to have 10 RHD (aka, be level 10 when you meet her), i think that was just a "trick" to prevent her from leveling up and gaining more spells known / per day.
Also, most of her abilities are supposed to be at will, which as a sorceress she does not get.

PS... according to that info she will maintain her disguise at all times. Aka, when going to a village such as homlet she should be disguised... homlet should not refuse to deal with you if you have her in the party because they shouldn't be able to see anything but a sweet young lady.

 

Is there a way to de-level her in the console?
