I've not attempted to start a new game to see about new saves. I've already 'reactivated' so it was rebuilt and I need to redo the patch add-on. Basically for IWD I will be restarting from scratch.

I am not sure what to do for my TOEE:NC and KotB.

I tried adding the tigdebug=file to the shortcut, but no file was created.

Here is the file. The program came up ok with 3 or so long waits. I do have a question. You said to do a short cut to toee.exe and not to the TFE-X.exe correct? So I bypassed the new content and brought up the original program is that correct?

I have a copy of my ToEE folder before I added IWD to it.

Neither the KotB or NC work. They both crash at around the same spot..."initializing sector data".

Not sure if it is TFE-X related or not.

I have attached a movie showing this. You need to remove .txt extension to get to the 7zip file.

What happens if you disable the intro movies?

When I disable the intro movies:
    • The KotB will start up and when I go to the load game screen it will lockup cold when the saved games are displayed.
    • ToEE: NC still crashes at the same point as seen in the video.

The NC is still active even when you launch from toee.exe.
Is the debug.txt file from when you successfully load the game?

Thanks. I have to say that's a surprising place for it to crash, it's hard to pin down anything specific that could cause it (though as the log shows there's plenty of errors in the protos.tab file which may or may not be related).

You can try running it with Temple+ and see if it helps.

Yes it is. After I did this I went back to the tfe_x and tried loading the game that way and it crashed. I did it just to check.

Well that sort of defeats the purpose, since I wanted to see where it crashes, but I guess if it allows you to play it's not all that bad :p

    What does? I ran that
What does? I ran it as you asked. Its clean. I just checked the other way to see if it still crashed. I'll run it again if you want. It worked this way and not the nomal way. The jar lets me play too.

I mean the purpose of the debug.txt is to diagnose what happens when it crashes. If it doesn't crash, I can't do that...

It seems to me that the opening movies is what is causing it to crash. Whether they are on or off.

ToEE (any game module) has had a longstanding issue with intro movies and mode-switching - sort of a cyclical thing where having them either enabled or disabled can cause game failures and can be corrected by either re-enabling or re-disabling them, whichever they aren't at the time. Of course in typical ToEE fashion, it's never consistent, either in terms of the failures or the fixes. Also it is unusual that the game crashes mid-movie or between movies ... usually it's before IIRC.
