    It is not my place to say or put words in anyones mouth...but hell I will anyways. I think some of the short responses you get from the modders is because they are hard coded into the original game and there is not much they can do about it. Most of us over time have just came to relize little things like rest until healed not taking your spells into account just are not going to change and these were issues that really should of been addressed to the original developers; and in the long run are more annoying such as the CR of hardest monster killed in your log not being accurate or Athestic such as the Elmos axe and not game altering or changing. The COE modders put alot of personel and unpaid time into this because of there love of DnD and TOEE specifically. I think they are at the point where they are trying to make the game better with respects to the enemy AI and new encounters or fixing or improving old encounters to keep players like you and me to keep playing and enjoying the game and having new and unexpected experinces.
    Sorry if I offended it was not my intention..just some of your comments to me seem well nickpicky (though completely justifiable to the original Atari team who did get paid), but not sure the COE Modders should be the target of some of them nor am I trying to discourage you from commenting or bringing up points you wish to be changed in the game.

    To any of the modders and/or administrators sorry if I spoke out of place I usually try to stay in my lane.

    And to anyone espically you ConjurerDragon I apologize if I came across rude.

    Not at all rude.
    I have no idea what can be modded and what can´t.
    Or what could be modded and for whatver reason won´t. Sometimes I´m not even sure if what I notice was part of the original game or only added by the Co8 mod as that content is often as good as the original game.
    So if I see something in the game that I think ought to be different I´m going to mention it.
    If then someone answers "good find but it´s hardcoded and can´t be modded" or
    "that may sound like a bug but it´s intentional because XYZ depends on it" I´m fine with that.

    The "Flirting with disaster" quest:
    The quest assumes that a male party member courts Melany and speaks several times with her. In the current 7.6 NC the whole dialog can simply be clicked through by speaking to her several times while standing in her house and not once actually leaving like the text implies.
    So it´s possible that she goes from "meeting total stranger" to "sure ask Dad that you can marry me" in one rush.


    The only thing that then delays the conclusion of the quest is that the older sister has to marry first.

    On the other side the herdsman courting actually takes time in which you have to speak to his son and he slowly moves from outright refusal to acceptance of a new mom if you visit again and again.

    I have no idea how those quests are scripted different, but would it be possible to change Melany´s script so that the party has to actually *leave* her house before she jumps to the next stage of her dialog?

    In the Lawful Neutral opening vignette when speaking with Kenter Nevets and chosing the line that the party is there on official business he replies that he feared it would be too late.

    Then you can choose from two replies which are identical. Both option 1 and 2 say:
    "Too late? What is happening here?"

    Is that for some reason intentional or an error?

    I found a "Barbarian Armor" on the Brigand Leader in the Moathouse.

    It´s long (SHIFT-leftclick) description says "Armor Proficiency: Medium, Move Speed: 20/15".

    Normally equipment someone has no proficiency in is marked by a red border around the armour or shield.

    However my Rogue 2/Wizard 2 that has only light armor proficiency has no visible sign that he isn´t proficient with the barbarian armor. And when equipping it he still has speed 30 instead of 20.

    Is the Barbarian Armor actually light armor and it´s description is wrong?

    Edit: It seems to be light armor or to count as light armor. My Sorceror with no armor proficiency has the red border around the Barbarian Armor to show that he is not proficient with it.

    So it´s similar to the "Studded Leather Armor" and counts as light armor - only the descritpion does not match that.

    I opened the inventory and status screen of the two familiars of my party.

    When clicking on the "Primary" field the opened window listed how the attack bonus of the familiars added up.

    The last part of that list was
    +2 Enhancement: OBJ_Handle_NULL

    The same entry both for the Raven as for the Toad familiar.

    The PC party members or Elmo had enhancement modifiers listed for their weapons, e.g.
    +1 Enhancement: Battleaxe


    Could it be that the OBJ_Handle_NULL should be simply the "claw" weapon of the familiar and that text is somewhere missing?

    Edit: Or should that be the familiar master´s BAB that is added as the familiars BAB?

    Edit: The Raven familiar adds -5 from Strength to it´s attack. According to the PHB a familiar should either add it´s STR *or* it´s DEX bonus, whichever is higher and a Raven would have a 15 Dex. Is that hardcoded or could that be changed?

    Hommlet. After the Eddie the Herdsman quest the female Sorceress of my party agreed to marry Laszlo.

    When speaking again to Laszlo I noticed that my male Fighter gets only 1 option
    "1 Good to see you again"
    while *every* female member of the party gets the same option plus
    "2 Good to see you again love. Just stopping by... missing you"

    Can´t the game discriminate between the one Sorceress that did the quest and married Laszlo and the other female party members? Or is the script wrong and the other female party members should only get the same 1 option like the male fighter?

    ^ Try to ignore that. The core game usually just does what it wants at random.

    ^ Fixed.

    The scripts at play generally do only check for the sex of the speaker, so basically any female in your party can be Lazlo's wife (or Fruella's or Meleny's husband, etc.). Keeping track of who it is specifically is problematic because players can move characters around in the party order. I think Sitra Achara has developed a reliable way to store that kind of data but I suspect it's rather complicated to implement.

    This could be made to be more like Eddie/Lazlo (which routine is based on story states), but we wouldn't want to stretch it out too far because getting Fillikin's sword is one of the big draws of the early game.

    When reading the entries in the animal companion section of the ingame help I noticed that the Dire Rat has the "Weapon Finesse" feat which allows to add the DEX instead of the STR bonus to it´s attack rolls.

    If it´s not possible to have familiars use either STR *or* DEX modifier (whichever is higher, most likely DEX as in the RAW) would it then be possible to give all familiars the Weapon Finesse feat as a workaround?

    Would it be possible to give them a non-droppable wedding ring?

    Well it´s not THAT early as her sister has to have married first which takes some time to complete. Could Melany´s script check if the Deklo Grove spider quest is solved? She mentions the grove and that she likes to go there so that could be a possible requirement for the next step to her marriage.

    In my current 7.6 NC game I have encountered trolls as random encounters nearly a dozen times and none of them had any treasure. Hill Giants on the other hand are very profitable in their loot. As the 3.5 MM has "standard" treasure for Trolls I would expect them to carry at least *something*.

    Am I just on an unlucky streak with Trolls or do they never carry treasure in ToEE - and if so is it possible to change that?

    The only troll treasures I've found are the items tied to particular trolls in the temple.

    Same here I have never had trolls w/ treasure unless a specific treasure for a specific troll.

    It seems to me the tresures are pretty fixed so a troll always has nothing, hill giants and ogers always have their coins, Gnolls their coins and leather armor, kobold sgt's chain shirt and battle axe. Etc...

    It would be nice to have a little more randomness in the tresures, both on creatures and in chest (not so much in moathouse and temple where trying to stay true to core module) but in the NC areas like welkwood and hickory and on random encouters a little more randomness would be cool. Just not sure how easy/hard or impossible that would be to implement.

    Version 7.7. Resting in the Moathouse I had several random encounters, twice I had
    giant lizards who started right next to me but not hostile (green circles).
    Is that intended or an error?

    Did they go hostile as soon as you tried to move?
