Glad you like it.
I'm playing Co8 7.0 on my first play through since last year some time (final 6 version available before 7) and am not getting any option to go to Welkwood. I have ended up travelling around the place and have levelled up to 4 in the meantime, which is too high I know, but am wanting to know if I have encountered a bug or am just missing something before I restart the game.
I have completed the opening quest for Terjon and have exhausted all speaking options with Brother Smith and Captain Renton but do not have any option available for Welkwood or any special requests.
Are you sure you're playing the NC version?
Just asking, but have you gone to the Overland Map and looked for the link to go there?
Apologies for the late reply -- I've been offline (game speaking wise anyway) for the past 5 days.
I'm embarrassed to report that I downloaded and installed the non-NC version of 7. Downloading the correct version now
You know, I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to include a lvl 2 kobold sorceror in the leaderless kobold dungeon encounter, whenever the next version comes out. My party always tend to level up right before this battle takes place, making this fight a bit of a walkover. Offcourse I could also try do decline from doing some easy quests & killings first (deklo spiders, giant frogs and outside moathouse bandits), but old habits are hard to break
The last couple of times I've done Welkwood Bog 'anti-clockwise' - that is finishing with the goblin encampment.
The point of this post is that the one time I've done so with 7.3.1NC the goblin leader was absent from the encounter - no masterwork armour and potion......
^ In 7.3.1 NC, he didn't pop for me either (plus another goblin also missing). I could, however, force-initiate combat by targeting the place where he should've popped.
Fixed that, thanks guys.
Just had my first playthrough of this and I must say GREAT JOB! Really fun, really nice simple story, just challenging enough, and a nice new starting route. Thanks so much for this!
I appreciate it also, just a slight bug in that the Banshee,HillGiant etc had only 1hp and thus it was no shock to me. In future reference,I suggest a 'spot check' for illusion creatures and non lethal damage perhaps if fail illusion checks? lt makes gnomes more useful and illusions more scarier.
Mathiel's equiptment should at least be lootable, and a reward for his demise perhaps from Verbabonc? I defeated him at 1st level-Cleric of Sun on Greater turning and he was gone.
I enjoyed it,apart from the illusion weakness.
How do you find the DR of secret doors? Protos or what file? I had the secret door bug several times so lost many games from just this.
That would be a different story if you didn't have show hp ticked.
Portals are embedded scenery objects stored as sector data, so you would have to locate what sector of a map the door in question was in and then look up that object in the sector editor of WorldBuilder. I don't recommend it if you're only casually interested.
I am playing 7.50 with a new party. Something strange happened to me in the Bog this time. As I approached the lich, I started getting screen pop-ups that were related to the tutorial. For example, just after I killed Mathel, I got the pop-up that said "you have just killed a rat."
Just found out about the Circle of Eight mods (had not touched my copy of ToEE since about 2004), and reinstalled the game with Co8 7.5.0. I must say I am really enjoying ToEE with the bugs gone (mostly), and all the new content.
Went through the Bog, and as far as I can tell have killed everything. However the log entry for the quest never shows as completed (stays high lighted in blue). Is there something I've missed?
Welcome to Co8
You need to go back and report your success to Capt. Renton in order to complete the quest
