Press the C key to toggle combat mode on/off. This will allow you to start fights against any critter that doesn't start a fight against your party. Those goblin and kobold leaders in Mathel's underground lair are indeed meant to all be hostile.
That's what I figured. Thanks! And again, awesome bit of content. I loved the various "deterrents" scattered throughout the bog.
Wouldn't that interfere with Mathel's dialogue though? Every time I've done the quest, he speaks to me and then sics his baddies on my party.
I'm just playing through 8.1.0 for the first time now and I was also pleased with the Welkwood Bog improvements. Starting over though - I neglected to get the fixes and ran into some bugs. Prayer spell would not work, and Gremag stopped talking to me after one conversation. Fixes seem to work, though.
In my current 8.1.0 playthrough my neutral good party entered Welkwood Bog. Around halfway from the starting point to the location of Captain Ash all my party members start showing those icons at their portraits :chick: that normally indicate an ongoing spell. Red for "Courage" which when I click on it explains how it´s a Paladin ability that works against fear. There is no Paladin in my party and the effect is re-applied even when I enter the area after Cap. Ash is gone...?
That happens whenever you are around a paladin. Even a dead paladin. I think the illusionary captain is a paladin.
So dead illusionary Paladins grant an Aura of Courage? I think in my next playthrough I´m having a gnome illusionist and want a spell that creates illusionary Paladins... :giggle: Edit: However even after the illusionary Paladin has left the courage condition is still added to the PC´s. Does the courage effect persist even for being near a place where an illusionary Paladin has started before?
Possible spoiler Swamp Lotus: I've read you find it on a random encounter in swamps, so I've went back and forth Hommlet-Welkwood Bog like 30 times, got many encounters in swamps, but never found it, I'm I missing something? thx and thx for the excellent work, Jean-Pierre
I have done more than 30 encounters before getting it. Sometimes you just don't get it. When it does show up it is always on the far left side of the screen in the center.
