I am absolutely loving Verbobonc! I would love a hint on finding the slavers too if anyone is willing to pass that along Thanks!!
Glad you could find them and yeah, they are a nasty bunch of baddies. Too bad you can not role play it just a bit more and teach them some pf their own punishments. Anyone ever try to dominate or charm any of the slavers and bring them along with your group? Might be fun to use that sorceress as troll bait back in the temple or give her over to Iuz as a love slave for his vile appetite.
(1) Is there supposed to be anything to the Hextor church beyond enter and slaughter everyone? Is someone supposed to tell you to slaughter them? The "chief cleric of Pelor" is a little unreal- there's a big hextor sign on the wall! (2) What triggers following by the cousin? I bought the castle, and have gone up and down the whole place and don't see anyone in red. (3) Is there any alignment=good way to complete the assassin quests? I got the hit on the dwarf. I tried talking to the guards, talking to Wilfrick, finally talking to the dwarf. The last triggered a fight. (4) Is the slaver quest a random encounter? (5) It would be nice to include some option where you can subdue the 3 criminals who then surrender. Something along the lines of the Lareth or Tolub conversations. After criminal drops to X hp, he offers to surrender and you are teleported to the jail. (6) I will echo the following bugs: (a) Holy Word causes dead people to make saving throws (b) Fight with everyone else in tavern after killing half orc rogue. Occurs randomly. I DIDN'T use area of effect spells.
In reply to #1, it is just filler for now. It will be expanded in the next module, 6.0 as well as a lot more of Verbobanc, #4, no it is a set place and I will private message you with the location. #5 Not at this time, though maybe they will set up some other alternative in a future date.
Ease on down there cezmail ... the presence of Hextor will hopefully be expanded in a significant way later, but did we ever promise a lot more of Verbobonc? Erm, why are you worried about being followed by anybody if it hasn't happened? (Emphasis mine) Feature request noted.
Ok, my bad on assuming. I just thought, or perhaps misread in the past, that with the huge increase in the size of Verbobanc, that it was going to be fleshed out more and the content there in was going to be expanded. So much of it seems empty for the size. If not in the 6.0, then maybe sometime in the future. If I am wrong, then call out the proper authorities to escort me to me beating.
Because I don't think it is going to happen. I've done all the Wilfrick and Zoon quests, and Lerrik is noncommital. Just like the Lodriss quest. I want to get an excuse to kill all those red fellas, but I can't seem to trigger the right responses. I finished the slaver's quest. Umm... that thing appears to be epic level. At least each of my party members got something like 50,000 xp (most of it wasted) for killing those fellows off. The main thing I didn't enjoy about the quest was the insta-kill of a character outside of combat. That didn't seem "fair." The repositioning of people to hinder area of effect spells was ok. Note that the repositioning is flawed if the player approaches the enemy from the left side as the majority of enemies are lined up in a nice little row that is susceptible to lightning bolts. There's a slight bug in there also in that when the bad guys attack the little kids, the little kids become enemies.
I had not seen anything about this before, so am not sure if it is just the idiosyncrasies of game or what. I got t he missions from the SB and got to the third mission to go after the Vicount. I had not gone to see Willy first, so I went to his chambers and there he was, even though supposedly he was on the trip to Narwell. Was he in two places at once or just not left yet? Anyone else ever come across this before?
Next time i'm going to use the S&W.50cal and shoot that slaver sorceress. Her spell resistance and saving throws are pretty high, tho. Might work.
I use power word stun x2. Auto hit, no saving throw. Gotta take out that priest too. Then, various electrical spells and flame strike
Ok, thanks for the heads up Necroticpus . I will go back to an older save and reread what the red idjit has to say and make sure I do things right, as well as not get my foot in my mouth. Appreciate the bob on the head to point me in the right direction.
