The two ladies do indeed show up. One is the Vicount's daughter and the other is a server at the inn in Verbobonc.

They will not tell you how to get to the City. For that you need to talk to brother Smythe.

Just to push your buttons, here is a list of upcoming new quests for Verbobonc (thus far):

    Ratting Out The Hextorites
    Snitching On The Scarlet Brotherhood
    Narcing On The Scarlet Brotherhood
    The Rabbit Hole
    The Gremlich

As you can see, there will be whole new avenues opened up for betraying your evil employers - and the consequences thereof , so good parties will have a way out if they don't actually want to do evil but also don't want to just hang out at the pub. And evils go go either way.

More! I say I want MORE right now Darn it. Stop your real life and work only on TOEE NOW!

Ok, now got my insane wish out of the way, I am very intrigued by these hints and I look forward to seeing how these new quests will play out and what the consequences will indeed be. Now if somehow the Red Robed Rascals and the Hard Headed Hexties joined up with the revenge party, then the Party will be in some serious hurt. :D

Thanks Gaear for the tease and keeping us up to date.

Does this mean more high level fights?

Nope - we figured a couple kobolds would do the trick. ;)

Well give the hoard of kobolds some high level sorcerers, raging berserkers, and rogue snipers and they too can lay waste to a PC group. :)

A suggestion for the drow/dragon quest. Can you make world map available on the last screen where you fight the adult dragon, as to eliminate the unnecessary backtracking to return to verbo?

Might could, but it would mean adding a new worldmap location. I guess there would be no need for new paths, as it is off the world map like Verbo, so I would be able to do it without going mad. And there is precedent for a back door with the Moathouse.

We'll see. If we ever do Etterboek, that would mean a new worldmap location, and there will probably be one added with WotGS, and there may be be a need for another one or two. There's a limit to how many more we can add ... something like four, I think.*

    * actully six - five with Verbobonc

    Neat!

I was thinking though - if you start running out of world-map space, it's not like you have to give this one its own location (who'd want to go back there?). You could just give it a one-time exit to Verbo (like Moathouse witch encounter with drow does), or add an NPC who takes you back to the city.

Still, regardless of the way it's accomplished, the exit is nice, and I'm glad we have it now.

I've always found the 'alternative' methods ... well, just that: the are obviously workarounds, and thus a bit hackneyed in feel. We should probably put the Gnarley Forest location on the worldmap as well. I really don't think we're going to run out of them, as there's not a whole lot more room for expansion anyway.

I think any given location having a worldmap spot is moreso informed by considerations of reality (i.e., should you be able to go there by traveling there?) than by how much they're used. I don't think anyone goes to the Moathouse Cave Exit much either, but it's there.

I usually get to the Cave Exit ASAP. It's very convenient if you want to rest before tackling Lareth and his guards.
