bradrinwi has assured me (on IRC) that he'll look into getting some new options into the radial menu for multiple choice spells.
i agree with both ted and blue on the whole issue of the trap being an excellent way for a high level party to actually put their skills to some relevant use, and requires the player to do some puzzle solving. however, i don't see how it makes sense for an evil party to get toasted by the trap when they've agreed to help hedrack at the end. hedrack or someone else should deactivate the trap if you're actually playing with the intent of helping the temple, rather than destroying it.
yes allyx im working on getting a radial menu button ..but the formating might be an isue .. was thinking ..of a better way anyone play BG2??? if you memorize say wish.. 1.can toee parse the radial menu.. so when you make the spell selection wish(though any multiple options spell should work..) selecting it from the radial menu.. can that call up a dialogue box with 4or 5 options(wish has many things it can do....(depending on your int and wis scores..)) so i thought like bg2 the 4or 5 choices it gives the spell caster are dependant on his/her wis and int.. higher wis and int.. the more likely youll get good choices.. lower wis+int and you get 1 or 2 nice options and several varying harmful or malevolent ones.. if all of this cant be done but if you can get a dialogue box from a spell choice then that would at least allow selecting wish>dialogue box>choice.>spell effects (maybe youd have to make wish 1.py.. wish 2 wish 3 etc each denoting a different effect and your dialogue box selection calls the correct spell.. so it would appear relativly seamless to the user.. but work correctly .. i dont know if a you can trigger a dialogue box from a radial menu selection (can you parse for on call_"wish"trigger.. dialuge..xxxxxxx) and b can a dialogue selection .. trigger.. a spell effect? c would be(in an ideal world.. or one were atari let troika do something right.. ) can you check combined wis+int of the caster... and then have a variety of dialogue options.. and spell effects dependant on the total.. (if x=20-25 trigger dialogue a..,if x=26-32 trigger dialogue b etc) that might be a bit much but the rest I think would be slick.. even if the intwis dependant wasnt possible in the meantime in my continuing can a char class be added research ill explore radial menu modding... Hey anyone know win 32 assem in thier sleep (where is moebius when i need him..) i can do C++ while comatose.. but havent learned an assem in so long and its so easy to F up everything ..in low level programming..
thanks alyx i try to be different actually i dont it just comes naturally anyways does my idea have merit..?? i know it means extra scripting work BUT scripting we know .. and i have a feeling the less gui and layout changes made the better... .. the radial menu could very quickly become a mess.. *i will still do my research on moding the radial menu, after all if i succeed in char class additions especially something like psionics ill need to mess with the radial menus options if nothing else * just wondered what pepole thought of my idea.. rather than my talent for massive posting duplication
TROLL BESERKER?????!! gee thanks... im not even sure what that would look like maybe lancelot slaying the wedding party Re monety python and the holy grail?? "you killed the best man..""sorry...""
Just curious, but who wrote the encounter with the ettin and brownbear fighting it out in the middle of the road? So cool.
"I wish you'd make me a turkey sandwich!" Ettin and brownbear? Is that a random encounter? Never heard of it...
