Frozen Assets | Description: The Lord Viscount of Verbobonc has asked you to investigate why merchants are being frozen in their tracks. If you complete; If you do not complete; Of Castles and Quarries | Description: A group of dwarves is refusing access to the quarry from which Hommlet has been mining stone for the construction of its new castle.
We should probably avoid anything that contradicts existing endslides - the vanilla slides depict Hommlet as either unchanged/growing/destroyed ... which reminds me that the WotGS stuff would probably contradict that too lol. Here's one for the Slavers. The fissures of Emridy Meadows become a popular destination for thrill-seekers wishing to tap into whatever dark static energy remains from your legendary liberation of the slave children from Tarah Ka Turah. Many never return, though the fissures themselves never divulge what secrets they swallow, nor say who waits for visitors below.
Yeah, thanks. Almost forgot - we should have a couple slides for Welkwood Bog and Arena of Heroes as well.
An end slide a day! Under Attack From Underground Without Holly With Holly ~ Also added a Wilfrick is dead/SB contingency:
One interesting thing I've noticed about the endslides ... There are three versions - one each that appears to be good, neutral, and evil, based on the setting, e.g. a skull candle for evil, etc. I always assumed these reflected character alignment, but they really don't. Rather, they depict the nature of the outcome they're reporting. So if something bad happens (Hommlet burns!), you get the evil one, and so on for good and neutral. Here's some examples for Co8, with better images. GOOD NEUTRAL EVIL
The end slide result forcing Wilfrick from office doesn't exactly make sense, as "Viscount" is a hereditary title. That could work for a mayor of Greyhawk, for example.
I don't think I'd worry about it too much, D. It suits our purposes after all. @SA, like the new ones, thanks.
re. Wilfrick - I was surprised at just how long I managed to get away with it I intentionally left it a vague 'forced out of office' because I figured it's not an elective role (though perhaps 'office' should be altered). And reading some background material, it seems that he *can* be challenged by someone else of the same bloodline, so it's not completely implausible. But if anyone has a better suggestion, go ahead.
Same bloodline, eh? Perhaps his scheming daughter manages to see him off to his dotage as a result of that economic downturn...
