I just tried to use a "VanillaVisa" prepaid gift/debt card to make a donation and PayPal has refused to accept the card ( which has been "registered" at the VanillaVisa website ). Has anyone had any luck using prepaid cards and PayPal ?

Refused it how? Prepaid cards should work just fine as long as you have enough balance on the card to make the donation and provided that you enter all of the details correctly...

Edit: Ah... looks like you picked one of the prepaid cards that's only valid in the US. From https://www.vanillavisa.com/home.html?product=giftcard&csrfToken= :

Of course, you couldn't know that the Co8 PayPal account has recently been relocated to Europe... :/ I suspect this is the issue here.

    Ouch....

Anybody know of any type of prepaid card that is good across the pond ?

    >Should work just fine.

    I'll take a look - thanks !

    >Also, you could just open a PayPal account and tie your bank account to that and just use PayPal to donate.

That's a bit too risque for me.

    Thanks again -

Myself I use the heck out of PayPal, (about 10 years now) and they are yet to let me down.

I get a monthly statement showing exactly who and where any purchases went and they also offer their own Fraud Protection, (although I use my bank's).

Same here. PayPal's used by millions of people and it's as secure as it gets, not to mention convenient.

I can but agree: Paypal has always been a very smooth experience for me.

Only exception: once I paid three times for the same item because Paypal was experiencing some problems. I was notified and reimbursed in a matter of few days.
