Greetings everyone, I had noticed a problem that occurs during the Tutorial. :icon_chuc After Valkor kills the rat, takes the key, and goes to the room with the ladder, something weird happens when he tries to descend the ladder. Valkor appears in Hickory Branch (of all places!) between the monster pit and the bridges, see attached picture. You can access the World Map and go to Hommlet or stay in Hickory Branch and be killed in a few seconds! :dead: Talk about taking the LONG way to find Ariel! :chick: If anyone can confirm this bug, I found that the Tutorial maps are vanilla in 8.1.0 NC and that adding the Tutorial maps from 8.0.1 NC corrected this bug, see attached picture. Later!
I thought the tutorial was not accessible in 8.1.0. I thought I read somewhere that the maps were being used for NC. I'd search for the thread I read but I'm on the iPad and away from home right now.
The tutorial was scrapped indeed, and there shouldn't even be a 'select tutorial' button on the ToEE main menu. Otherwise, thanks for getting back to me about the domains, guys. Nope, that's RAW As far as the missing Good Domain spells go... Lvl 6 Blade Barrier: Wall of blades deals 1d6/level damage. Lvl 8 Holy Aura: +4 to AC, +4 resistance, and SR 25 against evil spells. I can't see either of those being added any time soon. Blade Barrier is not practical with the ToEE engine, while Holy Aura would require adding a spell object to the target for the duration of the spell that provides the +4 boni and can be checked for to manually script the SR 25, then manually adding that script to every evil spell. A big effort, only really worth doing if we are rewriting every evil spell anyway (to add a profane bonus for this and that, for instance). More the sort of thing KotB would worry about, and adding lvl 8 spells to KotB is not any sort of priority for obvious reasons.
The tutorial's actually been back in since v8 I believe, and none of the tutorial maps or map numbers are touched anymore by Co8 for fear of reawakening the jerkstop demons. Where is Valkor supposed to go, just down to the next tutorial level? It's probably just a portal/map number mixup.
And my guy was hit by a fireball and became disabled. Then he wasn't going to move and the fireball wouldn't hit him (I threw 3 from each of my wizards and I have 2 wizards).
Never encountered that sort of bug, but have you tried targeting via the Initiative list? You can select 'Full Attack' from the radial menu and then click on the portrait there.
I tried casting a spell like fireball or magic missile at him by pointing at his picture that is above (I think it is the initiative list as you call it since it shows when each character will attack) and the spell cursor just disappeared. I couldn't fire at him.
My other domain is sun. It's just 6th level, as once I got 7th level spells I had a domain spell to pick. Thus, I added a lower level domain spell to the 6th slot and decided that was that. Thanks guys.
I experienced the jerk-stop glitch in the Northern-most hallway in the second level of the Temple of Elemental Evil.
Are you absolutely sure it was jerkstop you experienced as described in the thread about jerkstop, or was it a bit of lag? This is rather important as for a lot of work went into squashing the jerkstop bug and it is believed to be gone. If you're not sure, you could read a little bit of the thread mentioned to ensure you have the correct diagnosis.
Just started through Verbobonc. I purchased some scrolls to copy. Why can't Dominate Monster be copied? I seem to be unable to copy it unlike in 8.0.
Is your wizard a specialist? Is the scroll from a prohibited school of magic for him, or is he high enough level? Does it just not show up in the radial dial?
Level is irrelevant, the only thing that matters is the spellcraft check (DC 15 + the spell's level).
Are you saying the game will allow a level one wizard copy a scroll of say, cone of cold to his spell book even though he can't cast it yet as long as he has a high enough spell craft skill? This is wrong, but if so then I stand corrected. Sometimes I forget the raw were slightly bent to fit into the game engine.
