Your cleric has an 11 Wisdom, so he can't use any spells above level 1. That's per the rules, and is implemented correctly in TOEE.
I am going off the top of my head here but I think I read somewhere that you need a certain wisdom to use clerical spells...For example, 18 for level 8 spells. In your stats, you only have a wisdom of 11 so that would be level 1 spells.
www.d20srd.org/srd/theBasics.htm#abilitiesAndSpellcasters It's on page one of the D&D rule book on the www.D20SRD.org site.
Thanks for the explanation, guys. This is what you get if you don't have any actual D&D experience...
When returning Paida to Valden (her husband), Paida should be removed from the group before the party is awarded EXP so her presence doesn't reduce the amount of EXP given.
I just cast chill touch on a giant crayfish and paralyzed it. I tried casting it on a couple of other opponents (goblin, jackal) and it functions as intended.
Horrid Wilting Particles HW used particles as if it were a Transmutation spell instead of a Necromancy spell. Extra White Planar Chest Scroll The extraplanar chest scrolls in the moathouse should be bound with a blue ribbon (Conjuration) instead of a white one (Universal?). This coloration should also affect scribed scrolls.
It is meant to do 1d6hp and a point of Strength damage... had you cast ray of Enfeeblement on it? Reducing it to 0 strength might paralyse it... otherwise, Co8 hasn't messed with that file, it looks like a standard file. Are you using Temple+ by any chance? They did tinker with that spell by the looks of it though not in any way that should cause this (from a cursory glance).
No other spells cast on the giant crayfish. The first time it happened took me by surprise so I went out looking for them and had my wizard attack one solo. Only cast chill touch and after one successful touch attack I got the message that it succeeded on its saving throw and it was NOT paralyzed. After a second successful touch attack with a failed saving throw I got a floater saying ability drained and the crayfish became paralyzed. And yes, I am using Temple+ I pulled up an old save file and ran the game from the TFE-X front-end and I get the same issue. One successful touch attack, fails its saving throw, ability drained floater, and one paralyzed crayfish. Works correctly on everything else (no paralysis), including undead (makes them afraid). Thanks.
Ok, thanks for testing. It has a Str of 14 so a -1 shouldn't paralyse it. Can you please cast it on one of your own party and see precisely what Ability damage is being done? (Pls )
No, 'monster stable' is the only thing that stands out. I am betting the problem is that the spell is doing 1 point Int damage rather than 1 point Str . EDIT: No, it does Str damage all right, this is a puzzler...
Tried this in my runthrough this time...I got the same experience points because Paida thanked me when I asked her to leave when in Hommlet.
Then its not a bug, its a deliberate feature of the game - the authors apparently thought she deserved her fair share of the XP for whatever she did in getting back as part of the party. Makes sense, I guess. Anyway, inasmuch as they thought about it at all, it's their call.
I'm new to the forum, sorry if violating protocol WRT bug reports. I acquired TOEE from GOG recently, installed under Win7 32bit VirtualBox O/S, installed Co8 Modpack 8.1.0 New Content, then tried to activate it - failed w/ ToEE Front-End X encountered a serious error, IO Exception when installing a package: invalid LOC header (bad signature); I deleted the TOEE dir, unzipped a backup from just before applying the mod pack & retried w Co8 Modpack 8.1.0 Std Edition, same error during activation. I have the TFE-X.log as .txt file attached... Advice?
