The chest weirdness has resolved itself. Apparently the game cares about the order you disarm them.

There are three chests behind the ettins. When I tried to disarm the middle one first (after spotting the trap), my rogue would kneel in front of it and go through the motions, but the game engine would make no roll. This also happened with the one furthest to the southeast. Through experimentation, I discovered it WOULD roll (for the middle one) if I disarmed the northwest chest first. After disarming the middle one, I was able to disarm the southeast chest as well.

    I agree, that's just weird!

I know the "Empty" pop up was removed from the other chests but I didn't think anything else had happened.

I just noticed that Violet Cloaks sell for half what other cloaks do, but are purchased for the same price. It looks like that might be an object class problem.

I'm still working through v 7.8. No jerkstop at all, but some hefty lag on Dungeon Level 4 when panning and moving, and light lag when just moving.

I just got to Verbobonc. I like Veenah's picture and selection of items for sale, but she doesn't pay full price for clothing items you sell her. Also, shouldn't there be a dialog option to go straight to trading vice "Tell me a little more about yourself"?

On the 3rd level of the temple (v7.8 NC) in the antechamber where the 4 trolls are I found the Gelatinous Cube stuck in the wall behind the troll instead of being in the hallway behind the room- never seen this particular glitch before... Edit: rescued the prince, returned to the 3rd level and encountered the cube as normal- obviously a very minor glitch... BTW- in the room with the 4 ogres that comes after the 2 shadow filled rooms on the 3rd level the very last ogre- the one farthest back- doesn't go hostile as long as the characters fight the other ogres out of his sight...

Just wanted to verify that the third ogre does in fact stay non-hostile if the others are killed before you see him.

I just finished Hickory Branch at 13th level. "Criminally easy" doesn't even begin to describe it. I think it was perfectly balanced for where it was prior to finishing the Temple, but it really needs work now. Given what Gaear was able to do with Senshock, I think the new version he's working on will be awesome.

Am now on the 4th level of the temple and after having taken care of Senchock the party was in the hidden passage between his room and Barkum and Deeggum's(?) when I actually saw Barkum and Deeggum march into Senshock's now empty room from the other end of the corridor followed by their 2 bugbear bodyguards- that was a pretty neat sight... and yes, the ogre I mentioned before stayed circled in green as the characters went past him...

Question: did you at any time have to rest while you were there? I usually do Hickory Branch before the temple and either just before or after the AoH so the characters are usually between 5th and 7th level depending on which alignment I'm playing (I go there primarily to stock up on arrows for the bow users- rogues, bards and rangers primarily) and usually rest there. Depending on where you go you can rest 3-4 times before you get interrupted. If the random encounters occurred more frequently (and if they included magic users as well) that might make for a more challenging visit, even at 12th level or higher...

I haven't rested in Hickory Branch since my second or third play through. Hitting the place after gaining a fire rate of four arrows per round and being able to more fully craft my bows (+2, Holy, Axiomatic, Frost, Shock) turned it into a complete cake walk. I never even made it all the way through my initiative order on any combat, even the last one.

Yeah, I'd say you were a bit overpowering to them.

And they dare to sport the moniker "Lord", hah ... More like a squire, aye?

If you hit them at the level they were designed for, he absolutely rates "Lord". As far as resting, anymore I only rest a few times during the game. My philosophy for a long time has been to make the monsters "save vs. damage". The only encounter I actually need a spell to win is the 4 Iuz battle at the end. Protection From Evil and Enlarge are nice to have when facing the Balor, but not they're strictly necessary.
