    Co8 7.3.3 modpack

    *Pishella as usual, had a brief discussion with Burne about adventuring with the player, even Burne already fled Hommlet. Which makes no sense. [WoTGs]

    *Ariakas dialog file, has a typo. <Perimter> [WoTGs Opening]

    *Black Jay's dialog file;

    {Great mother! My wife's ring! Where did you find it?}
    {I found it at Emridy Meadows in the belly of a large brown bear.}
    {game.party_alignment & ALIGNMENT_EVIL != 0}

    It must be the Moathouse' spider right?

    *Lord Krunch is 'missing', in an ambush fight. Maybe plotting something? aside from his great speech. [Hickory Branch]

    *An unidentified grey colored scroll is named[unintentionally] as "Magic Potion" instead Magic Scroll. When identified "Scroll of Invisibility, Greater".

    Question - i was a guy playing toEE with the cO8 modpack and I saw him making a aprty of 8.
    Is that some hidden feature or a mod of somekind? If so, where can I get it?

    In the front end, go to the Options menu, or just hit F11. That will let you change the maximum party size.

    I'm hitting F11 like a moron. No party size option....

    I usually go through the menu, so I was just going by the text there when I recommended F11... sorry about that.

    Things noticed while playing:

    - No Tolbun in Nub. Isn't he supposed to be in the tavern?

    - No Black Jay ring quest. No goblin to be found either.

    Tolub is in the Boatmen's Tavern by night.

    Black Jay only gives you the ring quest after you complete the hemlock caper, iirc. That was changed recently. The goblin has been long gone from Hommlet for years and is no longer a part of that.

    I believe it might me the other way around..I always have to give him the ring, prior to him being willing to talk to me, otherwise he just says go away (unless CG).
    The ring is usually found on three different critters at diffrent locations, but pretty early in the game I believe where it is found may be based on Alignment. Then after I give him the ring he is willing to talk to me about his sheep.

    I tried to test Alt-Tab under 7.3.3 today, and now even when I open the game from scratch, I only get the upper left corner showing anything from the game. I tried every suggestion last time the upper left corner issue came up, but nothing except a clean start fixed it. Now even that's not working. Any other ideas?

    I often have to run through a variety of keystrokes, and wait. They waiting is the key, becuase the reason for the hang seems to be that the system is rendered temporarily unresponsive while ToEE ponders some fool thing or other. (One of my major computing pet peeves - "stop everything while we have a think about this." :roll:) So if you wait, the keystrokes may become effective again after a bit.

    My favorites are:

    The windows button.
    Alt-Tab
    Ctrl-Alt-Del

    I usually run through them in sequence until something works.

    I suppose the best solution though is to never try to exit ToEE without quitting the game.

    p.s. - I see you actually meant that the complete screen does not appear, sorry. The only other suggestion I can offer is to click with your mouse somewhere in the live area, quit the game, relaunch, and hope it returns to normal. My game often does that in quasi fashion, and I can usually tell when it's going to happen when after the game launches the windows mouse is still active everywhere but the top left quarter. If I click in the top left, the ToEE mouse takes over. Then when I quit, all my other open windows have been reduced to a mutant minimized state, and I have to re-maximize them. After I do that and relaunch, the game usually returns to normal.

    I think this occurs as a result of using higher resolutions, as the game centers on the top left with higher resolutions (like when you load a save, your party is always in the top left), likewise positional audio is centered up there. So I'm assuming the original resolution is considered to be the top left, and the rest is extra resolution.

    On that note, maybe a change in res would save you.

    I've been working my way through the available resolutions with no luck, and I've managed to quit the game "normally" by using sound to tell me where I am in the list of options, but that hasn't worked either. How long until 7.4 comes out again? I may just wait and try a completely new install.

    August 26. This is not a modpack issue though, so it will be neither better nor worse with the next release.

    Dark,

    If your computer default resolution is not on the list of avaliable either in frount end loader or the TOEE main menu options screen...go to the wide screen resolutions sticky located on this forum and change your height and width manually to match your computers default res.
    Helped with some of my issues.

    True, but the display was fine up until I tried to Alt-Tab with the new mod-pack. I expect a fresh install will clear whatever setting is sticking with this one.

    For Shapecharge: thanks! I'll give that a shot, probably tomorrow at this rate.
