    Hello,

    I'm new in Co8 Mod 5.5.0 (Beta), and when you buy your equipement you could buy BackPack and Pounch. My problem is that i'm not able to use it (and for the backpack you have one at the begin of the game is in this backpask you pout item, so why buy another).

    So my question : How use BackPack and Pounch And why have create backpack ?

    The backpack and pouches don't have a use yet in ToEE. They do have a use in the add-on module, Keep on the Borderlands that you can download off this site. And in case you were wondering, the same goes for the coils of rope.

    Can you add to the mod an option so 8 hours of sleep heal all your life?
    Also, it woudl be nice to make slings use only a hand. One of the advantage of using slings as ranged weapons, comapred to almost anything else, is that you can use a shield at the same time imo.

    The modders keep things as close to RAW as possible.

    You can fire, but not load, a sling with one hand. Loading a sling is a move action that requires two hands and provokes attacks of opportunity.

    Err if i recall correctly you can use a sling and a shield in 3.5

    I think Basil was quoting the SRD, but in any case, in the manual there is a list of changes. I shall quote at length (because I am an academic and can type fast).
    Its the first one. :shrug: Yes its a pain (especially when we want to introduce Hand Crossbow-weilding Drow) but we gotta live with it. Craft a +3 mithral buckler, I say.

    I found is , bad that reincarnation is as powerfull as Raise the dead , cosndiering that reincarnation cost 4 time less.

    Could you add Restoration to NPC healers? It's a spell i generally need and NPC don't offer it, and it's annoying, i'm sure some of them should be able to cast it. Still they offer useless to almost useless things like remove poison and heal light wounds.

    I find it unreallistic and hard to swallow that your single character flees from battle and every other 7 characters bodies (death or Unconsciousness) and items, comes with you. I fact they don't even DIE. So the guy was in the floor near a giant, you flee and the body is with you and ALIVE.
    Could there a set of rules be created to make this more believable?

    I agree with Waterd103 that it is unrealistic that someone is carrying seven bodies as he/she flees, but this type of situation arises when a product is rushed to market. I do not know how hard or easy it would be to give a high level cleric the restoration spell. But , I can assume that coding the dropping of party member out of the combat rotation when they die would be no small feat of coding.

    Also since this is a volunteer project, RL issues crop up that may prohibit members from working on the mod, which is why the updated mod does not have a release date. I have to commend Co8 for keeping TOEE going long after its designer (Trioka) dissolved. The game was release in 2003. Atari (the publisher) has long since gone on to other games.

    Neverwinter Nights solved the problem of NPCs dying by having them disappear to the nearest temple automatically to be raised. Realistic no, but at least it was an attempt.

    But this situation arises when you have a great design but faulty implementation.

    I gotta admit, the lack of Restoration is an issue: we can probably do something about that.

    Using COE Mod Pack 5.5.0 Beta with TOEE Front End-x v 2.1 on WinXP SP3

    While on the 4th level of the dungeon in the room just north of where the party meets Iuz (on the old pen-n-paper version of the module, this would've been room 433), the party was fighting several oozes, jelly and fungi.

    One of the characters in the party was affected by one of the creatures in the room. The small icon on the character portrait looked to be a small reddish looking badge with a faint line vertically straight through the middle.) When I moused over that badge to see the affect the following line was presented in the UI:

    "Ability Damaged: Error! Missing line 159 in mes\spells_radial_dial_menu_options.mes"

    I took a screenshot and can email or post somewhere if you think that would be helpful.
