I think it's reasonably handled. It seems like an ambush. This couldn't be a regular problem at the crossing. If it were an ambush, it could be explained later in the story as an action by the primary bad guys. Or sooner, as the party being involved in some lesser, local plot.
Then the scene succeeds! I must have missed where you explained, but I got the message anyway. You may feel like you need to edit it later, but it stands up. Sudden attacks are supposed to be "What the hell?".
Just in case anyone wonders, I am still working on the story. Just doing some mechanical stuff that I need to do to keep track of things. And to add things.
OK. I have a dilemma. I need another fighter type. I do not want a Paladin. I will have a Rogue/Wizard soon. A ranger? I don't know how to play a monk that well. If I take a ranger, I'll have to change the location on some of the characters, in order to find him in the woods. Maybe. Help? Also. Don't the fights seem a little too easy? My characters are supposed to be fairly high level, 5 or 6 at least, but do the fights balance?
You could have a fighter. Maybe a farmer or a shop-owner who's a retired soldier. A guard escorting merchants. Somebody on a mision from a lord. Or a lord or prince. How about a cleric? You don't really have to follow the D&D classes exactly. Kinda sounds you want a ranger. They don't HAVE to be found in the wilds. Just find a reason for them to be where they are. Go back and add to the fight as you think of things. The story is the point.
Everyone in the party except Chloe (and the raven) has to be the son or daughter of the previous party. Ahem. If you read the story, you would know that.oke: A lord or prince. Never would have thought of that...I'm too working class. That's an idea. Thanks.
Does anyone know if I can insert a page later on between 2 pages already posted in the story? I want to just move ahead for awhile with getting all the characters in the party, and add fight scenes later, if I can without a lot of trouble.
Can't help you there... Where's Geaer? "Oh for cryin' out loud, he's not dead is he?" "No, No, I'll get the Bactine"
I have a question. Moving way ahead in the story, I am thinking of adding a vampire. Not to the party, don't think that's possible. Maybe, later it might be. Dunno. But. Say a paladin was turned into a vampire. Is there any way he could overcome the evil alignment? And change back to LG? How could that occur? Would he still be a vampire? I would love some discussion on this. I can take liberties if I want to, but I'd like to stick to some of the 'traditions' if I can. Input? Someone?
