    Ooooh! I LOVE questions!

If a Paladin has been turned (it MUST be against his will), he could regain his "fallen" status and even find enough favour with his/her deity to restore his mortality(humanity?) by undertaking an epic "atonement" type quest.

Another, maybe not better, way to apply it would be the "ultimate sacrifice" scenario. The vampirized, fallen, Paladin undertakes one final quest to restore himself at the cost of his own (un)life. There's no way to reverse the physical changes, but his spirit is restored and is allowed into Paradise.

Applied/written the right way, one can avoid the cliche' -edness of that particular scenario.

Thanks. I think the last example is where I wanted to go, if I even decide to.

Who is it that dwarves don't like?

    Isn't it gnomes?

    Hope somebody reads this.

They don't like elves and their cousins, the orcs.

I think gnomes get along with everyone, even humans.

    Are you biased?:giggle:

Whose cousins? Orcs are cousins to the elves? I didn't know that. How did that occur?

I don't remember how... but it was described in Tolkien's Silmarillion (sp?) if I remember correctly. And... by the way, isn't it a little different with D&D?

I googled it. Should have done that first, I guess.

Tolkien said that elves enslaved by Morgoth were broken and twisted into orcs.

The elderscrolls games said the orcs were descendants of elves.

D&D considers them a goblinoid sub-race or species.

I like humans, especially the tiny ones. They're wiggly, squawky and delicious! :joy::joy::chew:

Actually, I have just one ass, but it DOES look like two of something. ;)

Goblinoids and Orcs are two separate choices under Ranger Racial Enemies.

Well, you learn something new every day..... elves being related to orcs? No wonder there's so much enmity between Elves and Dwarves.

Seriously. Dwarves and Elves have NEVER gotten along in any RPG universe that I know of. Palladium probably had the best history between the two races. Elves and Dwarves fought a horrific war with uber-powerful rune weapons that pretty much wiped out both populations. They recovered (albeit VERY slowly) but the hatred was deep seated and lasted for millenia.

Bottom line, usually Elves and Dwarves don't get along.

Elves: Natural beauty, the arts, etc
    Dwarves: Battle, stone/metal crafting, etc.

Elves find the Dwarves coarse and vulgar. Dwarves find Elves haughty and flighty.
