Can't Loot

My suggestion to turn off security, virus scanners, firewalls, etc. goes along with the golden rule of having as few other applications running as possible while you're running resouce-hungry games such as ToEE. Most all of these applications do better without having to compete with other apps for system resources such as memory and devices. Sure Windows manages things just fine for every possible combination of every potential conflict... right? ;-)
