Leveling up my Fighter 2 / Rogue 2 to a Fighter 2 / Rogue 3 dropped him from a BAB of 3 to a BAB of 0. Any ideas on how to fix this, ther than going back to an earlier save and just never giving him another level of Rogue?
You could try the console: game.party[X].stat_base_set(stat_attack_bonus,Y) Make X = (number of the character's position in party)-1 = a number between 0 and 7. Make Y = the BAB he should have. I've never done this, but it was listed with a bunch of console commands somewhere. Worth a shot.
Well, that didn't work. Annoying as heck. First time I've run into this one, but then it's the first time I've bak and forth multiclased a character. LUing him again doesn't help either; it just gives him a +1 BAB, rather than the +4 he should have as a Fighter 3/Rouge 3.
What did the console say when you tried the code? Did it give an error message, or print "4" or what? The reason I ask is I'm wondering if the code just needs to be slightly different. There are also character editors out there that you could try. Unfortunately, I've never used one, so I don't know how they work.
I'll give it a try. Rather not restart the game at this stage. I notice that you did a many-multi classed character recently. Did you run into any similar problems?
Equiping a Longsword +1 at that point left his Primary attack bonus dieplaying as 5, despite a STR of 18. Looks bug-like to me. However, going back to an old save and LUing him again fixed it. So, I dunno.
My point being that your BAB (base attack bonus) was ok. Since you were reporting it as a BAB bug. As for totals, I wouldn't be surprised if some weird thing may happen sometimes, because Troika's approach to the matter of total stats calculation (and data retrieval in general) is kinda lame, unnecessary complicated and coded even worse, it seems. But since you can't reproduce it again, might as well be a buggy you However if you do encounter it again, look at that "Click for more info" thing for your total attack bonus in char UI. It lists all components of the total, so you might get more insight about which part went wrong.
Yeah, it could have been doing lots of things to the total, either by thinking you weren't proficient for some reason, or thinking your strength was different, or who knows what else. If you got a 4 returned, you probably had a +4 BAB. If you still have the messed-up save, click the box with his total to-hit modifier and let us know what the break-down is.
