Well, i've been thinking on a little simple game to pass the time.

Consider this thread under construction, as i will be modifying and adding rules

    BASIC RULES

-Two to four teams, each three to five players.
-Players can choose class, race and alignment (as well as personal data, like name and sex of the character)
-Players have two actions: standard action (for attacks and skills), and move (for movement and specific actions)

-The game is based on points, which will represent the actions in a kind of abstract way.
-Players have two actions, and may post for each, and certain actions will require a single post which will take action and move in a single post (like a full-round action)

-The setting is the Arena of Heroes, where teams battle between each other and/or face challenges.
-The setting in the Arena may change, ranging from forest, swamp, snow and more.
-Also, there will be "events", which will affect the setting and have specific rules.

-Characters will have three basic attributes, varying depending the class.
-Characters will have equipment, and will be able to find/buy/change it.
-Characters will get experience. They will not level up, but at certain points achieved, they could switch to an advanced class.

    ATTRIBUTES

There are three basic attributes. (This may change later, after testing.)

    -Attack:
quite simple, the main attack of a character. To attack, a character must have an equipped weapon (single handled, two handed, or a weapon in each hand), or use the default spell.
To make attack on another character, a movement point is required first.

    -Movement:
characters will use this for melee attacks, or move around. To attack in melee, the first attack must be a charge, which will cost the movement and attack points. Moving around is to achieve specific goals (at certain amount of points)

    -Skills:
Characters will have different skills, depending on the class. This attribute also covers spells and special actions.

    CLASSES

There are three basic classes available. Each is specially good on a different attribute. Attributes granted as points: an attack of 2 means 2 damage. Movement points are stored in a "pool". At certain point scores, events will happen. Skill point measures how many skills the characters has: 2 skill points means 2 different skills (this encompases also special abilities and spells)

    -Warrior:
    Attack 2
    Move 1
    Skills 1 (Powerful charge)
The warrior is powerful in melee and ranged combat. To engage an opponent in melee, the first attack against it must be a charge (movement action + attack action). A ranged attack doesn't require to move, thus saving the movement point.
A warrior can equip a single handed weapon and shield, a two handed weapon, two weapons (the second weapon damage at only 1), and ranged weapons.

    -Magic User:
    Attack 1
    Move 1
    Skills 2 (Spells, First aid)
The magic user is the basic spellcaster. It can be developed as advanced class.
Casting a spell takes the attack action.
A magic user can equip a single handed weapon but no shield, and ranged weapons.

    -Stalker:
    Attack 1
    Move 2
    Skills 1 (Stalk)
The stalker is versatile. The movement point can be separated in two (thus, technically getting an extra move action, with some specific exceptions). A stalker still needs to charge on his first attack, but it costs only one movement point.
A stalker can equip a single handed weapon but no shield, two weapons, and ranged weapons.

    SKILLS

    -Powerful charge:
The character with this skill does 1 extra damage when charging. You can't charge an opponent and the next round charge another. You charge and you're engaged in melee combat. You can retreat however, by using a move point.

    -First Aid:
The character has knowledge about herbs and healing. You can use your attack action to heal 1 point of damage to any character (even opponents). This is not magical.

    -Stalk:
it is use in two different ways. If used in conjunction with movement, you're searching, and moving only 1 point of movement. If used in conjunction with attack, you'l be sneaking your opponent and deal an extra 1 damage. To do a sneak attack, you have to use two movement points, and it takes effect on the first attack only. You can either charge or stalk, but not both.

    -Spells:
spells are infinite, for simplicity's sake. (You start with only one spell) :
    - magic missile: you do a ranged attack that does 2 separated damage to a single target (1 and 1), or 1 damage to two different targets.

And that's all for today, bufff

Lemme know what you think, opinions, suggestions and ideas are welcome.
I would also like to have at least three CO8ters to test the game .

    Sounds interesting.
Is this intended to be played online against other players?

    Well, yes :)

The idea is to pass the time while you're logged in. A kind of simplified rpg battle game between Co8ters in this thread :p
