Did you see an ad related to this by any chance? In the searches I've made I haven't noticed anyone posting which advertising provider this redirect is coming from unfortunately. Without some way of identifying where it's coming from it's like searching for a needle in a haystack.
Unfortunately, no. That's what's been most odd about it. On more than one occasion, I've gone to look at a different tab, then come back to the forum only to find that it went to webafan apparently all by itself.
If you could recall which ads you've seen on the pages when that happens that'd help in tracking it down... otherwise I hope that our advertising providers remove it on their own soon.
I'll certainly try to keep better track of the ads I'm seeing, but honestly I haven't noticed any new ones. Also, I'm accessing the web from Italy, so a lot of the ads are in Italian (of which I only know a smattering).
When using my android based phone to visit the forum, the ads are quite annoying - especially the ones that suddenly hijack the browser session and are difficult to close. Some ads appear to be free floating towards the bottom of the screen and are always in the way. I don't recall this being an issue in the older forum software. I use Chrome on the phone, so maybe I'll try a different browser.
This isn't software or browser-related so it shouldn't be any different in other browsers. Can you take a screenshot of what you're seeing?
I've installed a screen recording app for my phone. These two links below are movies showing what is going on. One video is a very nasty "your phone is infested, please install this" ad that takes over the browser. The other is more of a nuisance, but there is a floating ad that always re-appears and it tends to block a good chunk of the site, especially when you are trying to type. At this point I either don't use my phone to access this forum, or I switch to the desktop version and stay away from the mobile version. https://myaccount.dropsend.com/file/83484466d81838b5 https://myaccount.dropsend.com/file/ea2a0a99f53ce5c2 I hope you are ok with Dropsend links. They will be valid for 7 days, or so.
Thanks, that's very helpful, I'm going to take down out the ad provider that I suspect could be causing this and let you know so you can test.
