Phew, this is going to be a long one.

I didn't mean to imply exclusivity for anything, it'a just that I'm new to Co8 since 5.0.0. That means I don't know much about the history of the mod, and thus I have no idea who has special experience in certain fields. E.g. I would like to have the mass inflict spells so that I can finish up the evil cleric fix. So my question was aiming to find someone who knows how to do this, and ask him if he could do it. So if you guys had some kind of internal assignment system, this task could be given to the appropriate person. As it seems you don't have such a system and I don't know who to ask directly... anyone who reads this and wants to help out, shout! :)

Since I'm not as familiar with TOEE and your needs for the mod specifically as you guys, maybe a thread of the top 5 most important problems would be nice. As to the task assignment, I already mentioned it above, it was primarily aimed to find someone that knows how to do the inflict spells. I certainly don't want to bust in here and change the way things are done. Especially if it worked out so well so far.
To the last point: As I said, I'm new to the mod, so I don't really know what wondrous deeds my "predecessors" accomplished. But I want to stress again, that I just looked at my first disassembly a few days ago, so I cannot promise anything. For now, I only know enough to hunt down (very slowly at that) the place where it goes wrong and bend it a bit. Right out rewrites or additions might be impossible for me.
For example: As far as I have analyzed the action IDs for the action sequence entries, scroll and wand have the same. And it seems that the monster AI fired the use potion with that ID. I changed that to the use potion ID and now they provoke AoOs (and it very well might be that using scrolls/wands do the same now, if they use the same AI call here). But actually adding a new ID and set things up so that scrolls provoke, but wands do not, is way beyond my abilities. So don't get your hopes up too high. That said, of course I will try my best. :D

PS: As I already asked above, do you have some kind of collection of known function/data in the dll?

PPS: Shiningted, I would really like to know how you got those addresses you posted, since they all vary slightly from those I find.

;)PPPS: I'm still not clear if you guys want to implement the AoO fix. If so, say the word and I will send the AoO fix(+all others) to Shiningted's email again, ok? Of course it would help if you could script some sense into NPCs using potions.

Yeah I am up for that: send everything my way but remember I am old and sleepy and usually take a couple days to catch up with things. I got the addresses from a .dll string dump posted by, ummm, Phalzyr or Dulcaion or some clever fellow long ago :notworthy though I did notice mine were out when I tried my hand at .dll fiddling, I put it down to a different assembler. I have attached the list.

Other than the AoOs thing, my priority would be gettting the higher levels for Rangers, Rogues etc going. That has massively far-reaching consequeces. Even if we can't add new specialist feats, use 'blank' ones perhaps, if we could just get through the level-up screen with the HP / BAB / skills / feats / attributes bonuses, that would be a big step forward.

O and for a mass inflict spell, just holler for Darmagon. He lurks around here, sensibly keeping out of the day to day ruckus.

Spellslinger, here's an old thread about .dll fixes. No need for everyone to dive in here with a bunch of crap; let the man read them for himself. Stick with the postings by the more "reputable" types...you'll figure out who they are; Lynchpins, all. Thanks for whatever help you are able to render to our quest for D&D glory!

Spellslinger, in addition to Spike's link, this one may (hopefully) be of some use to you.

Re: the mass inflict spells, Darmagon is indeed the spell guy around here, and in fact created the 'mass' versions of the cure spells (minus cure light). But I don't believe he's been in for a while, so for the moment I'm afraid we're at a bit of a loss for getting those done for you.

Can someone who has a clue about this please weigh in here?

I would say yes. Again, major pet-peeve of mine in the game right now.

Actually, I read up on that subject on the SRD. As far as I can see you are only supposed to get all cure... spells as spontaneous, so mass heal/harm isn't in. But of course, any spell addition is a good idea. And when you have more time again, maybe you can help me out with the mass inflict moderate/serious/critical.

@Spike: Thanks for the link, but could you tell me if any of those things in there were fixed by bradrinwi? And is there record of his findings? (Hey, and I just noticed that I fixed Allyx's no.1 request. Of course intentionally. :eyebrow: )

@Shiningted: Actually I remember levelling my rogue to 15 or such, and though I wasn't able to pick a class feat, at least I could finish levelling up without picking one. Could you give or point me to a detailed description of the problem, so that I don't have to level them all up by myself?

    On Rogues

Checked it again because I thought I might have made a stupid mistake.

What currently happens is that no feat is 'coloured' gold (neither special ability nor normal feats) at the levelup to 13, 16 and 19. This means the class bonus feat cannot be filled. This particular bug doesn't prevent levelling up. What should happen is that every feat (standard prerequisites would apply of course) could be coloured gold as the special ability can be taken or another feat chosen instead of it. Whether it is possible to happen only you can say :)

    http://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/rogue.htm

Currently at level 12, 15 and 18, the rogue may select any feat or special ability as a standard feat selection. Special abilities shouldn't be available here.

There is no Mass Harm in D&D. Probably because it would be way too powerful.

And Spellslinger is right about Heal/Harm and Mass Heal not being spontaneously castable. If you want to drop a 9th level spell for healing, you have to go with Mass Cure Critical.

Mass Harm would be fun - so would mass disintegrate. (not for a normal or regular game, but just for testing purposes)

my long quest to get real drow into the game requires a dll hack, if you could look into how the race entry from the protos finds its way to the materials.mes that would be a start.

Thanks very much Mr Blue, and sorry it took so long to post*, Spellslinger (if that is your real name :p ).

    * my ftp client was down and when I tried to patch it, Windows Installer refused to work. I was 4 sheets to the wind at the time and couldn't figure out how to fix it - turns out my damn Windows XP had spontaneously decided not to run Windows Installer at startup, so once I manually got it going several issues resolved themselves. Thanks again Blue.

Sounds like you need to install the full version of SP2 again Ted.
