I ran the installation utility. Instead of just double clicking it, I right clicked it and choose "run as administrator"

Sorry , forgot that part was in the error header :)
    Toee.exe

I have deleted my install, ran ccleaner. rebooted and reinstalled the gog version in D:games/Temple of Elemental Evil

I will try installing again, I did follow the directions in this http://www.co8.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7737 thread expect for the av part. I use Comodo and I usually had it in game mode instead of disabling it. This usually works better for me but I will try with it disabled.

Well, I am an idiot, it went fine when I totally disabled my av. Should have done that first.

One last question. I acitivated 7.3.0 then installed addon 7.3.3. It still shows 7.3.0 in the TOEE Front end though.
If I click on addons and I have the option to revert 7.3.3 so I think it did intall right but how do you check it there a version number displayed in game anywhere?

The front end version number doesn't change with patches, but when you launch the game, the splash screen shows the version number - wrongly displayed as 7.3.2 for 7.3.3. :p You can also click in-game help and look in the Co8 tab for the version number.

Checked it in game and I have 7.3.3
I got my av to ignore the toee file (it quarantineed it as soon as I turned it back on but I restored it) finally but I still have to disable it to play the game. Not a big deal but I have been used to running Comodo in game mode and it lets games do their thing. I submitted TOEE to them as a false positive.
In the meantime I can just turn it off.

    Thanks
