What is everyone planning on having as their first party of 5.8.0? I was thinking about soloing with a druid since I haven't tried that before, but now I am considering a druid and wizard duo.

Whatever you do, don't underestimate the new content! Actually it will be interesting to see how easy or difficult players may find it, based on when they do it and other considerations. You never get too good a grip on that with solo testing.

btw, the mods are sitting on the ModDB server, awaiting authorization. They've been there since yesterday afternoon ... wonder if no one's watching the store at ModDB or something.

I noticed you added the new pics and changed the release date at ModDB. I have been hoping that I would see it before you posted a link here. Guess I shall do errands until then.

    a single elf wizard...
not a conjurer this time though, because specialization for wizards is bugged... so i will play a generalist and make more scrolls

How is specialization bugged for PCs? From what I understood a year ago when I fiddled with the intricacies of protos.tab, it was not possible to create a specialist NPC wizard.

It's not bugged. I've played specialist multiple times and found no trouble. Maybe taltamir came upon something minor, but it's definitely playable.

The druid/wizard duo won't pull certain things off, unless you power-level.

I decided to run a standard 5-man party, take a few NPCs - in short a fairly normal game, since it's been at least half a year since I finished TOEE last. I did that with one condition though - all PCs were made with 1 roll only - which left me with 1 somewhat overpowered character, and the rest underpowered (so bad that I had to swap out my STR15 CON13 CHA10 paladin at level three and roll a new one).

So yeah: LG party, Half-elf rogue/fighter (rapier+shield, finesse); dwarven monk (the overpowered guy, love him); human paladin (first with greatsword; the new one with ranseur); halfing druid (sling; it's hilarious when he wild-shapes, especially to a giant); gnome sorcerer (enchantment focus). Hired Elmo for Bog, then got rid of him since I realized I don't need him, also got Ronald - developing his bow skills, and also for crafting purposes; gave him 1 or 2 levels of fighter. At level 5 met Zaxis, and took him in for once; I think I just found my favourite NPC. Zaxis's using a light crossbow.
