What's the story with Improved Shield Bash? I see it's selectable as a feat in 5.0.5 and I know there was a lot of work being done to try to add it to the game, but is it actually working?

I tried giving it to my fighter and it didn't seem to do anything. Plus, I started getting CTD's when trying to access my inventory or the worldmap from a random encounter map once my fighter had the feat. (I restarted, leveled him up, gave him the feat again, next random encounter map I had another CTD. Reloaded the same game, picked a different feat on level up, and haven't CTD-ed since. I have no idea if it's related or just a coincidence.)

Sorry Kalshane, that one's my fault. It was briefly enabled for testing purposes but then should have been disabled subsequently - certainly it does nothing in the game.

    1) About the Shadow Poison: I think your idea was very good. But why not use the Shadow Essence kind of poison that also drains stranght but that has a name that seems more appropriate?

    2) About the goblin: you are right and it seems stupid. But then the text of the ring could be amended so that it does not reveal in advance that it should be part of a mission got from Black Jay.

    3) About Antialiasing: well, a warning is in order anyway. It might depend on my card (a nVidia Geforce 6800GT) but still it'd be good to let users know about it.

    Thanks!

I don't get it: does a negative energy effect wear off? Or does the victim need Restoration?

I guess we can do this as a Ray of Enfeeblment type thing, if its meant to wear off.

Otherwise I think Kalshane is spot on:

Shadow Essence: DC 17, 1 Str Initial, 2d6 Str Secondary

Large Scorpion venom: DC 18, 1d6 Str Initial, 1d6 Str Secondary

Ah. Okay. I was excited about being able to recreate one of my favorite fighter characters from PNP and I've missed a lot of discussion in the last year or so, so I was hoping it got figured out. No problem.

It's Ability Damage, which is healed at the rate of 1 point per day, or it can be healed via one of the Restoration spells. The poison allows a Fort Save (which the Shadow's ability doesn't) but also has a chance of doing an extra d6 of Strength damage, so it sort of evens out and the end result is the same: lost Strength that needs to be healed.

As Ted pointed out, the Large Scorpion Venom simulates the effect a shadow's attack much better than Shadow Essence does. I realize it's a bit of a disconnect in the naming, but I felt getting the effect as close as possible was more important than the name, and I felt most players would be more concerned about the fact their characters are taking strength damage and less about the poison was called.

Here, I agree. I don't know if there's a way to have shift-click description change based on whether you've received the quest or not. If not, maybe the description should be changed to "This is a wedding band crafted in a style common to villages in this region. Along the inside, there is an inscription; "From Jay" " If the player has already got the quest, he knows what he's found and if he hasn't he can probably figure it out without being given information he shouldn't have.

Was the post-Lareth ambush turned off? It didn't trigger when my characters left the moathouse. He wasn't with the party; they'd killed him inside.

It appears to be broken atm, as of 5.0.5.

Well, too many things seem to be broken at the moment so I will suspend my gaming untill a new update will be out.

    Thanks for your support!

Just a few additional notes on some things I've observed on another recent playthrough. (Check back for updates ...)

Lubash battle: Lubash still goes KOS the moment I appear. He has never done anything different in my games.

Moathouse gnoll battle: all the gnolls still don't join in the fun at once. Makes the battle a bit more simplistic than it should be, I think.

Lareth battle: party of 8 (7 PCs and Raimol), Lareth still interrupts combat if he's losing and offers to join, etc., etc. I can take him up on it and the game crashes.

Nulb: the Nulb signpost still has the zombie for a portrait.

Your new description is so much better!

If I knew how to change it in the game I'd already do it but I can but hope that this is soon going to become a submission!

    Thanks, Kalshane!

I've run into this occaisionally, but most times the gnolls in the back room come streaming out as the fight progresses.

Another bug, though this is probably Troika's, not Co8s: Bestow Curse is correctly described as a Necromancy spell, but it does not show up as yellow and thus cannot be chosen as a bonus spell for a Necromancer.

With CMF 5.0.5 "Greater Weapon Specialization" shows up in the list of selectable feats, but "Greater Weapon Focus" does not. Selecting the feat actually adds Greater Weapon Focus to the character in question, which functions as normal.

Thanks Shiningted and Alex (my hero!) but I really did nothing. It's a cozy feeling though... :)
