I agree that waiting for a reply would probably be pointless. I remember her departure, and some of the efforts to draw her back.

Re: 5.0.1 & 5.0.2 mods and fixes bug reports

I have a lot of respect for what Liv did. She fixed a lot of bugs and opened up a lot what was possible to mod in ToEE. When I did my rules-compliance updates to the protos.tab I either left her additions alone or tried to touch them as little as possible since it was her own content. (The biggest changes I made were to the assassin, since he wasn't Liv's creation, just something she tweaked.)

That said, if she gave Co8 express permission to use her mod however we felt like, then if we feel as a community that something she added is detrimental to the game as-is, then we should be able to change it. I'd hesitate to tinker with her improvements to the brigands in the broken tower (beyond the changes we made for Co8 5.0 that allowed them to actually work as intended) since it's now one of the most memorable fights in the game or touch her Amii and Lareth quests (since they're both optional for the player) but anything else, IMO, is fair game.

If someone still wants the true Livonya experience, they can still download and play Co8 4.0 or even Co8 3.4 with the temple.dll fix and Liv's 1.5 mod. In the meantime, we should concentrate on offering the best Co8 experience we can.

I think the time has come when we can change her work without dissrespect

Put one or two someplace else, like under the rainbow rock in Emridy Meadows...or in Lareth's pocket. Hell, even Falrinth's gotta have one, you'd think. I'd be glad to see who in the module's got them. This won't be necessary if the whole trap is moved to behind the altar, because in order to progress, the party would have to have acquired one or more from 4th level people they'd have met & killed by then; notably Hedrack.

I probably shouldn't debate this (since it is more likely to turn bad than lead to anything positive), but I think we should remember that Liv left (or claimed she left) because of serious health issues. She was subsequently not spotted online for a heck of a long time (despite a lot of searching) which bears out her story.

That being said, she hasn't shown any particular interest in Co8 since being spotted back on the net, so I agree that we can modify her work if there is good reason. And certainly the problems with the box trap, + recent advances that mean we can make it work better, consitute good reasons.

Re: 5.0.1 & 5.0.2 Mods and Fixes Thread

Rolling through again (using 5.0.2 & .dllfix14) everything looks good. A few things looked buggy I thought I should point out (minor spoilers):

-enemies breaking free of Web still doesn't seem to work well--when they break free, invariably I get the floating text "broke free!" followed by three "webbed!"s over the poor bugbear's (or whomever's) head. Maybe it is working right but displaying improperly?

-The a.i. for the Orc leader in the ogre cave prespawn seems screwy. Both last runthrough and this one, he has a tendency to run between the nearest party member and a portion of the cave wall, only attacking maybe one time in three. I haven't cast confusion, or any spell like that. Similarly, the half-orc assassin just stood there and let my paladin bash away (I had cast Sound Burst, though not near him I suppose maybe given the battle's volume of information I could've just not noticed him getting caught in the aoe, though I doubt it).

-Hickory Branch sure could use a town map. I know it's probably a pita, and the area is pretty easy to sweep through (visually, I mean) for missed spots, but thought I'd mention it. (Unrelated: Interestingly, I was getting some lag during battles, as I panned around to see who was where.)

-The door icon which leads from the Falrinth/Smigmal section to the Pleasure Dome area is missing. This is probably a little install glitch, but just thought I'd mention it in case it was replicable.

And, related to point 2, I thought that it would be good continuity to link the Ogre Cave prespawn to Hickory Branch--something simple, like have the Orc leader in the cave say "We'll eat their bodies--and bring [name of Hickory Branch commander] their heads!" before exploding into a red-tinged barbarian rage.

But all pretty minor. Great modding, all around. Kudos and claps.

The Orcs of the Ogre Cave are separate from the Half-Orc Commander and his Orcs of Hickory Branch and they should remain separate.

This sounds like you're suffering from the missing secret door bug. Not much can be done about it except to delete all your saves and start over.

D'oh! I never realized that even was a secret door.

I had found other secret doors. I guess it's a late-occuring bug, this time. Thanks for the answer.

13th level rogue can't pick a class bonus feat: for example
    Defensive Roll, or crippling strike.

Edit:Sorry about the earlier post, I didn't realize
how stupid and unintelligible it sounded. ;P

The pathing of that map is well and truly screwy. Ruf knew about it but not sure if he was able to find time to a) look at it and/or b) do anything to fix it.

Think that is the root cause of most problems on that map.

Re: 5.0.1 & 5.0.2 mods and fixes bug reports

    1) I've looked through all the code and can find no reason for this to be happening. 5.0.1 and 5.0.2 don't alter any of the scripts for the dialog of the control boxes. I've tested it, and it still works fine for me.

    2) This could be a side effect of the inventory respawn. I've noticed a increased delay in map loading since I implemented this, but never as long as 30 seconds. The length of the delay may have to do with system resources. I can try to refine the code, but I doubt if I can get it to run faster.

    3) (an addendum) Because of the recent reports of Belsornig still being bugged, I checked out the code again and tested. Belsornig and Co are working fine for me. No matter who I take into the room (NPCs as well) combat no longer initiates immediately, there is only the statue and not the juggernaut present, and Belsornig speaks to me just fine. I can only surmise that people who are having this problem are somehow triggering the temple alert flag in some other script.

When I ran into Belsornig, he attacked me on sight and the Juggernaut was already there. Of course, I was hacking my way through the Temple, so it's entirely possible I set off the alert flag, though every other priest was willing to chat before I gutted them.
