Nope - I've used a druid with a non-wooden bucker many times, and it never affected my spellcasting or my animal companions. I'd guess Whatsername accidentally hit her bear with an AoE spell.

Question: if I'm already in HB, what will happen if I make this update?

If you are already in my mod at this time, I'd suggest you either (1) wait until you are done with my new mod before applying the update or (2) apply the update and use a save from before getting the map for you to start my mod again. This is your call.
    * There will be at least one more update I will release for my new mod, hopefully tonight or tomorrow night depending how things work out.

Re: 5.0.1 Mods and Fixes Thread

Hi, new here. I downloaded the 5.0.1 patch and have WinRAR now to unzip the file. My question is: When I zip this to the root directory for TOEE am I deleting ALL of the .pyc files in the DATA/SCR folders, or just the ones that I am replacing with the patch? I have searched and searched but cant find an answer and so far game is working fine but dont want to screw it up by deleting wrong things.

Delete the .pyc files ONLY. The .py files are needed by the game to make the game work properly, so DON'T delete the .py files.

Re: 5.0.1 Mods and Fixes Thread

    (1) First, use the Search feature in Windows. Point Windows Search to do a search in the ToEE game folder and its subfolders. Have the Search find all the *.PYC files in your ToEE game path. Delete all of the PYC files and empty the recycle bin.
    * Do NOT delete any PY files; delete only the PYC files.

    (2) Next, Open My Computer from the desktop. Open Local Disk ( C: ); open Program Files; open Atari; open Temple of Elemental Evil; open modules; open Co8-5.0.0; and, finally, open maps. Scroll the list window of the maps folder and, after the last folder, you will see files with unusual looking names that do not have an extension, just a filename. Delete all of these files; Do NOT delete any of the folders. And, empty the Recycle Bin.

    (3) Last, make a new folder on the C drive using Windows Explorer. You can call the new folder Co8fixes. Use your WinRAR program, ZipGenius, or Winzip [whatever you've got] and extract the content of the Co8 5.0.1 update RAR file to the new folder you just made. Select all of the folders and files in the new folder with the extracted files and copy the files and folders to the folder where you installed your ToEE game, called the ToEE root or parent folder. Select Yes to all when pasting the files.

[EDIT] There's an old saying, "Measure twice, cut once.".

There's another old saying - if it ain't broke, then don't fix it.

If the game is working fine as you say, Proninebal, then don't worry about it.

Re: 5.0.1 Mods and Fixes Thread

I agree with you Shin.. I'm not very far into the game and from what I've been reading there are some issues that I probably just have not run into yet, I love learning this stuff anyway. I've got the 5.0.1 patch installed now, thank you to everyone who gave advice, especially krunch who's instructions were perfect and exactly what I was looking for. I still don't know if I should be starting a new game or if my saved games will work but I may start a new one anyway just to be safe. Thanks again to all, you guys are just plain good people.

Re: 5.0.1 Mods and Fixes Thread

As advertised, 5.0.1 now comes with a nifty batch file called delete_pyc.cmd. It resides in your data\scr folder after you install 5.0.1. Double clicking on it will delete all the .pyc files in your scr directory, and only the .pyc files. It will not delete any files you need. No need to search or anything. Just double click on delete_pyc.cmd. How's that for one stop shopping! :)

    delete_pyc.cmd was written by rufnredde.

By the way, I moved a whole bunch of posts from the 5.0.1 Mods and Fixes thread to this one. The mods and Fixes thread are for posting Mods and Fixes only. No questions or comments allowed. That is what this thread is for.

Minor bug report, Lerrik is listed in the protos as lawful good, he's supposed to be lawful evil. I could have fixed this in about 10 seconds flat, but if someone could throw this fix in with their work, I'd really appreciate it.

Oooo, cool, thanks krunch. Could I be a PITA and ask you to add "Fire" between elemental resistance and 30 for the helm of brilliance? Apparently that has become broken since I made it too

Re: 5.0.1 mods and fixes bug reports

I thought this problem had already been adressed, but apparently not. My 2nd-level cleric of Pelor with the Healing domain today cast Cure Light Wounds on himself for a whopping 2 HP. That's 2 under the minimum. Can this be fixed?

    Edit: I have original patch 1 & 2 + Co8 5.0.1 installed.
