Apologies if I'm stating the obvious.

The idea is to interchagne Manyshot and Rapid Shot depending on the circumstances. Rapid Shot will get more use but it does take a full attack action to use. However, in those times when the character has to move to get a shot, use Manyshot since it's only a standard action. That's why they don't stack.

If you don't use the radial menu but have both Manyshot and Rapid Shot checked, the engine assumes Rapid Shot unless you have already moved. If you want to shoot first and then move, select Single Attack (and Manyshot if you want the extra arrows and the to hit penalty).

Selecting Full-Attack, as mentioned above, is wise not only for archers but melee dudes as well. You never know when a critical may drop someone.

I want to use full attack all the time but I don't want to waste arrows. I'm fine with using 5 arrows if they don't drop the enemy.

So what we need is a lot more trash mobs that have over about 300 hit points. :poke: :pelvicthr

Full Attack allows you to shoot one by one rather than automatically shooting your maximum number of attacks at a single attack. Thus, by choosing Full Attack you may choose another target if you drop your original target, thus not wasting any arrows.

Ya, I'm aware but I don't want to have to fool around with all that. I just don't use rapid shot or manyshot and just let them have their normal attacks now. It works out almost perfectly. A 20th level whatever gets 4 bow attacks, so usually only 1 arrow is really wasted, sometimes less. It helps the ammo counter.

I can't go into the bandit quarters on the topside of the temple anymore. The place is so filled with dead bandit's belongings, minus all the crossbow bolts, it looks like an overfilled antique store.

OK, now I'm riled! My dander is up! I created a 3 person party consisting of Giant, a fighter/rogue and a wizard. Giant can fight with 2 two handed swords, but he cannot fight with the sword of chaos and another two handed sword. This had to have been merely an oversight. The sword of chaos is a bastard sword but he can't one hand it but he can two hand 2 two handed swords. What's up with that? Since I can't use it I sold it for 60,000 gold.

Also, the extraplanar chest, hehehe. It costs 5050 gold to create and can be sold for at least 22,220 gold with an appraise skill of 12-14. And they give you 2 scrolls of it. I will never pick up anything to sell in the game again. You get them at somewhere between 6 and 7th level. If you hang out at the inn and rest enough, you could be a squillionaire in no time!

I don't care about the chest or money though. But something's gotta be done about that sword of chaos. Make it a real two hander and it does 4-24 weapon damage before the extra damage things. Oh yeah, babay. That's the good stuff.

You could always give Giant the EWP.

And yes, I know he shouldn't need it, but it will solve your problem...

The sword requires greatsword proficiency, not bastard sword, which is also odd. Giant has greater weapon spec. with greatswords, as well as regular weapon spec. and weapon focus.

So, I was playing last night with my 3 crew team. We went and bailed Prince Thrommel's ass out of the temple. Teleport back to the inn, he's says his little thank you speech and sits there waiting for something. I talk to him again, and he joins the party again. My question is this...

Do you get credit for bringing him out and then having him rejoin almost instantaneously, and will you get scather and/or other rewards if he stays with you?

I have a brand spanking new inconsistency to share today.

I'm going through 5.5 again. My 4 guys are 11th level, a barbarian, a rogue, a cleric and a wizard. The rogue has an appraise skill of 18.

I went to sell off some loot from the 2nd level of the temple, lots of bugbear stuff and priest stuff. And a couple rings of minor fire resistance from some trolls.

Do you know how much a ring of minor fire resistance sells for?

    500 gold? No.

    1000? No.

    15,039 gold? Yup.

15,000 gold for one of the most absolutely worst items in the game. I never use them. They give like a +1 or perhaps +2 to save for half fire damage.

If that ring is worth that much, the rest of the magic items in the game should be increased by a factor of x1,000. This is why crafting is so insanely easy. They throw money at you so often that it would be the equivalent of having a party of 5 Bill Gates running around together in our real world. There's nothing in the world they couldn't buy, except my love. And even then, I might consider it for $10 billion or so.

I'm just saying, maybe Co8 can drop the hammer, look at some of the sale prices of items and adjust them accordingly, like they did with the extraplanar chest exploit. 15,000 gold for a worthless crap ring is way out of line. I don't know what Troika was thinking.

I will agree that it's worth more than the new Celtic Runes.

    Hi
If I didn't know better, I would swear you had a messed up install. I ALWAYS use every "Minor Ring of Fire Ressitance" I can get my hands on (3 or 4, I don't remember the exact number). Why ? Because for me, a Minor Ring of Fire Resistance reduces the amount of Fire Damage it's bearer takes from every fire attack by 12. I grant you, it's not something you will use in every fight but in the Fire Node or the Fire Temple they are priceless (especially if you cast "Protection From Elements: Fire" on everybody before you go in).

Somethings not right there. The cost of a Minor Ring of Fire Resistance is 12,000gp. So I'm not sure how the game allows you to sell for for 15k.

That said, Royal Canadian is right, the ring reduces all fire damage the character takes by 10 points. If it's only granting you a bonus to saves, something is wrong.

The rings are very handy against fire-using enemies (especially for baddies like Salamanders and the Balor that do fire damage every time you hit them.) By the end of the game most of my party has Rings of Protection on one hand and Rings of Fire Resistance on the other.

I almost never take any fire damage in the fire temple or fire node. The wizard drops a scroll of lesser invulnerability, immunity to all 3rd level or lower spells and the fighters just murder everyone while the doomed creatures are trying to throw zillions of 3rd level fireballs. After they all throw 3 or 4 each and not hurting me, they run up to throw themselves on my swords.

But anyways, in my meager opinion, the rings are put there just for cash value for crafting. I prefer to use rings of protection and rings of freedom of movement, which I haven't seen any benefit from ever, lol. People still get caught in webs and there isn't anything else in the game that impedes movement.
