Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE And when the party find the boat, a huge black dog jumps out and runs off... we can mod that!
Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE Then Meleny and her sister start looking a little peaky, and the cheese maker starts collecting bugs.
Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE I'd have preferred a looting system like the old game Jagged Alliance 2 used to have. You could call up a sector inventory which showed you everything you knew of in the area. That way you could grab whatever you want without having to move around on the map etc. Another feature that seems to be missing from the game, unless I've overlooked it, is an option to heal up your party while resting. Some of the old gold box D&D games had a fix option where your party would continually rest then cast healing spells repeatedly until everyone was back at full health.
Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE There is a "Rest Until Healed" option in the rest menu. I wonder if it takes into consideration healers casting spells.
Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE It doesn't. But time doesn't matter a lot in ToEE anyway (scheduled events like reward encounters etc. aside). The JA2 system is great, for sure (and in lots of other araes too). Also, I'm not the only one who read that as 'looking a little perky', right?
Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE In no particular order: 1. Protection from Evil preventing you casting spells on your own characters. 2. The sheer slowness of snakes, Galeb Dur and one or two others. 3. The slowness of the arrow and bolt animations. 4. The weird desyncing of the shock visual effect from arrows. 5. The lack of a corpse glow for Black Jay's ring. 6. The fact that hotkeys don't 'stick' between games (probably my top one actually) 7. Sneaking speed - just can't be bothered with it! 8. Weird fear/Readiness bug where the next character loses action points, or the the next character's radial menu shows up instead of the current one. 9. The lack of reaction in some monster groups (e.g. campfire random encounter, lvl 2 ogre corridor group) 10. Scather bug. 11. The sheer uselessness of counterspell (though I think that is D&D's fault!) 12. The lying of the alt key/movement map when mapping out your movement, so that you move very slightly more than desired and lose an action (this is a big one!). 13. The difficulty in finding thrown spears when thrown anywhere near a door! 14. The fact that thrown bottles are not destroyed (oil, holy water, etc) 15. Granting 1 HP on level up. I know it's in the rules, but no DM ever forces it!
Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE I really find the following things annoying: Being unable to talk or select certain actions because an NPC in my band of adventurers is indadvertedly at the beginning of the group Having to backtrack through the temple and other large areas
Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE SA recently released a method of expediting temple travel based on what parts of the temple you have already explored.
Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE 15 ToEE annoyances? I can only think of 11 so far: 1. I played ToEE too damn much 2. I hacked ToEE with a rusty blade (no previous coding experience) too damn much. 3. Dialogue file editing. 4. .DLL hell! 5. Python scripts confuse me. 6. Atari (AKA) wankers. 7. Troika died. 8. Node lag.... ugh! 9. Zuggtmoy was never as tough as she should have been... (until I upped the stats for Krunch to test) 10. Keep on the Borderlands isn't finished yet. 11. 495 mb Co8 modpack?
Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE They don't get used up unless they hit, which can be a bit silly: I tihnk I mentioned earlier about being in a combat where an AI follower and a kobold were throwing the same bottle back and forth at each other. That was somewhere between 'very cool' and 'not quite realistic'. But some of them (particularly the acid) may not be set up correctly: that can be fixed.
Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE I think he means that if you haven't selected 'Max HP on Leveling' from the front end there is a good chance that- based on your character's Con score- that they could just get 1 HP when gaining a new level...
Re: Top 15 annoyances in ToEE 1. Pathfinding... it's just terrible, with some places even unclikable unless you choose just one character. 2. Turn undead. It works fine theoretically, but until you hunt down those undead who ran away you cannot finish the combat.
