Agetian, you were right, I installed 6.0.0 NC and the ToEE Front-End X does indeed automatically save its settings when it states that it will. I have checked all of its settings options and they all work perfectly except for the screen resolution option. I set the screen resolution at the maximum resolution option using the ToEE Front-End X, but when I loaded the game, the screen resolutions were at 800x600. I used the in-game options interface to set the screen resolution to the maximum screen resolution, but I noticed that the screen resolutions that one can choose from using the in-game options interface are different to the selection of screen resolutions in the ToEE Front-End X interface.

When one selects a screen resolution while using ToEE Front-End X, there is no marker or indicator displaying which screen resolution the game is currently set at. Will you please modify the ToEE Front-End X so that it displays a tick to the left of the currently selected screen resolution in the interface that displays all of the screen resolutions to choose from?

I'm using Windows XP SP3 (not Linux).

I activated the Circle of Eight Modpack 6.0.1 NC, then selected the maximum resolution option in the ToEE Front-End X and manually saved the settings. This time, when I loaded the game, the game had a resolution of 1600x1200. All was working great until I reached The Temple of Elemental Evil map. When my party appeared on the map, I could see blue rings but not the graphics of any of my characters' models (see screenshot below). So I travelled back to Nulb and I could see my characters again. Whenever I travel to The Temple of Elemental Evil map or the Burnt Farmhouse map, I can no longer see any of my characters (but I can see my characters when in Hommlet or Nulb). I examined my in-game options and it stated that my screen resolution was set to 800x600x16 (when it was actually 1600x1200 in the game and the loading screen and the main menu screen). So I used the in-game options to set my resolution to 1280x1024x32 and the game works perfectly now (i.e. I can see my characters at The Temple of Elemental Evil). I am using a Dell 24 inch LCD monitor that has a native resolution of 1920x1200. The monitor auto-adjusts screen resolutions on the fly so I never have to worry about what resolutions videos or games run at (just so long as their resolution isn't more than 1920x1200). Agetian, something very screwy is going on here. Does anybody have any idea what is wrong, or what could be causing this phenomenon, or how to fix the problem?

stage, thanks for the advice. I used ToEE Front-End X to set the screen resolution to 1680x1050 and now my game works perfectly and the graphics look great (although the character models look too small so I miss a lot of their detail - but that's the trade-off for having the perfect tactical view of the battlefield!). But there is definitely a bug with the 1600x1200 screen resolution with character models when at The Temple of Elemental Evil and Burnt Farmhouse maps.

    Hello all.
I am attempting to run Co8 modpack 7.0 I am told that the .net framework v2.0 does not support 64 bit machines. Therefore, I cannot run Co8. Any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance

I don't think .net framework is necessary for Windows 7.

I can't remeber installing anything to get Toee to work so i believe you're right Gaear.

What I mean to say specifically is that its functionality is built into Windows 7, so it's not necessary to install it separately. :)

Hello again. Thank you for the information. Knowing that I don't need .net framework v2.0 helps a great deal. I still cannot get the program to run, however.

I have installed ToEE, and it works fine. (after I adjusted the screen resolution)
I have installed patches 1 and 2, per instructions, and they work fine.

I have downloaded and installed the latest Co8 Mod. Upon installing it, I have a Circle of Eight icon on my desktop. DOuble-ckicking on this icon gives me a "Another instance of ToEE Front-end X is already running" error. C08 then stops running. Both programs are set to the same screen resolution, so I am stuck....

    Thank you again

I'm running Win7 64 bit and I run TOEE in XPsp2 mode with the "run as admin" option checked and no problems yet, granted I have only played through a few dozen times. ;)

I read in a computer magazine:

"Windows 7 comes with .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, and there's no provision to uninstall it. The versions of .NET Framework are cumulative (e.g. .NET Framework 3.0 includes all of the features of the previous versions)."

So, as usual, Gaear is right.

Right-click ToEE Front-End icon and "run as administrator"

I tried that, but then it tells me to install patch 2. I have the GOG edition, so according to the instructions, I dont have to install patch 2. It also tells me to run it from the root directory, and I am. I feel like I am missing the obvious....such is the story of my ancient ways :twitch:
