Good morning /evening all (where ever you may be ). I was able to convince my wife to pick my next party and she picked Halfling Beguiler Half Orc Paladin Dwarf Ranger Human Druid Elf Monk So this will be interesting. I ended up rolling for Stats to try to get a bit higher if possible without using the "trick" All that being said I played through part way through KoTB only once and only for a bit. There is a quest line that requires me to steal something from the keep mage if I recall. Will that cause my paladin to fall? I am playing neutral good and will make sure to keep my decisions good but I don't want to go through the trouble and have my paladin fall if I can help it. Any advice would be good here. Also she picked my weapons and wants my dwarf ranger to use slings. Can this work with all the ranged feats as normal? Rapid shot, etc
Slings are ranged weapons. Unlike tabletop, they automatically reload. They're the best ranged weapon in the game for those with high STR.
Thanks! I haven't tried slings yet in the game but I figure it's good against skeletons due to the bludgeon damage anyways. She did pretty good picking my team surprisingly!
What? Like a buckler or a full on shield? That's insanely cool. Attack of opportunities when shooting in melee?
Ok that makes sense. I was just surprised with the shield usage I didn't know if slings were way different
I tried it in game last night but was unable to equip. Now I'm using a dwarf so maybe size restriction but I'm using a masterwork sling and I couldn't equip a shield. Bug maybe?
To my knowledge, in ToEE/KotB with Co8/Temple+ installed, you can only equip a buckler when carrying a sling.
Yeah I seem to remember us discussing the (absurdity) of not being able use shields with slings before. Good question re the Paladin falling! I'm not sure - probably have to just do it and see. On the plus side, (if you have played that questline through before you may know this) you have the option of turning the quest-giver in, if you want, after you have done his quests (since they involve dubious actions), so a Paladin might try a bit of mental reservation and do that, or at least you can still do that line of quests while RPing your Paladin.
