Co8 8.1.0 bugs

Interesting. Is that going to be included later on? I see this .py file in my game but the effect doesn't activate, so I assume it is not integrated yet.

 

I added it around 2014, as part of co8_config.ini. It should be switched to stricter rules option.

 

Charm effects are potent if used correctly, but so are other spells! I've barely used charm effects in D&D, but grease has been the best level 1 offensive spell by far! It can keep tripping foes and triggering AoOs just by walking through it! ToEE's version is bigger than normal and nerfed in Stricter Rules Enforcement, but this spell - not directly damaging by any means - has probably helped me kill more foes than any other ToEE spell!

 

For anyone experiencing issues with the Arena of Heroes, Gaear's fix from back in version 5.9.x (https://co8.org/community/threads/c...ry-discussion-thread.8355/page-54#post-102988) still works great (many thanks, Gaear!). One note: the file you need to overwrite is now called "py00524master_of_the_arena.py".

Is there a fix for the Ghoul Touch particles bug? I tried searching for a solution, but I only found scattered mentions from many years ago.

The specific bug I'm experiencing is that missing the touch attack with the ghoul touch spell causes the purple cloud to surround my wizard forever. Even worse, every miss adds another cloud so it becomes denser and denser, and the console is spammed by multiple "Ghoul Touch OnBeginRound".

dont know if it was mentioned here already (was to lazy to read 74 pages ...):

I wanna take off the robes of the great temple from my characters.
When i get to the last character, the game crashes to windows desktop - it doesnt matter where i put them off.
It happens inside vendor windows, citys, also unequipping wont work etc.
Atm the only thing i can from keeping the game crashing is to keep them on

yeah this exact robes.
no i didnt console them in, they were all looted from the greater temple.

Or did you use the console to change the characters (feats, auras, etc) at any time while wearing the robes? This can sometimes cause permanent bugs to characters.

the only things I do console in are potions and scrolls - yeah I know its not exactly rpg-like but I dont wanna put more time then necessary into the game.

ps: i know ... I searched for some things in other threads, but found out, it could be mustered via potions/scrolls too - so i didnt bother too much with things i shouldnt meddle.

 

If you can post the save, I could try to diagnose it at least (no promises though).

 

I do not think it has anything to do with the robes. a few years ago I had a game that would crash when removing something( I don't remember what might have been a bow). This was a couple of years before I found C08 but I think something got corrupted in active game file as starting a new game solved the problem
