Well just started for first time... bug/moathouse?

I cleared out the moathouse with an npc from the inn... then I went to Jaroo and he asks me to go there.. everything is cleared out in the moathouse and he won't progress the quest... am I screwed?

 

Well, I killed the ogre and freed the slaves if that is what you mean.

 

Go down the staircase the Ogre was guarding. Say hello to many other monsters and an evil High Cleric. Read a walkthrough if you want specifics.

 

I tried looking for the secret door the walkthroughs talked about... no ogre was guarding it.. it was just in a random place... Since I killed the ogre and everything in the moat before I got the quests.. how in the world was I supposed to have known to look there? I guess I'll continue tommorow.. I knew to expect bugs... but how bout some direction!?

 

The staircase you're looking for is *not* a secret passage. it's a regular staircase your PC's walk down manually, like any hallway, ect. The Ogre Lubash is guarding hte staircase that goes further down below the Moathouse. It can be easy to overlook, i beleive i did overlook it the first time I played. Lubash basically is the bouncer guarding the *main* part of the moathouse that needs to be cleared. Go back to that room and look around a bit more carefully.

The staircase is only shown once you move close to it.... therefore it is hidden... even when the map was explored I could not see it... Plus, I even had a battle right in front of the staircase and it didn't reveal it to me. Still haven't gone down yet... just woke up . And Lubash did not guard it.. if you are talkingabout the ogre character... he was in a small room with nothing else in it except the door to the slaves.

 

You might want to go back and check that room a bit more carefully. You might find that there is more to it than just the door to the slaves (i.e. a long descending staircase, and the 'fix' to your 'bug').

The staircase you are looking for is *NOT* hidden. Yes, you may find a "secret" one somewhere, but that's not what we're talking about.

Yes, Lubash IS guarding it. Yes the big Ogre character. Yes he's in a small room with nothing else in it except for a door to the slaves and a long stairway down. I suggest you go back there and walk along the southern wall very carefully. Hint hint.
