Verbobonc?

I have Co8 5.0.0, and ive been hearing about Verbobonc but i have little information on it.
Can someone give me some more information or point me to a thread?
Like who you have to talk to to get there? I have heard a bit about someone in Nulb and in the Temple but not much else.
Also, i have just had a random encounter with a Travel Agent. He says im stranded here, but i can just get out of there using world map. Talking to him just gets me travel options to places i know of, not Verbobonc. What is the point of this guy?

 

As far as I know, there's someone than can help you to find Verbobonc. That's the good news.

On the down side, you still haven't find that person, and maybe you should keep travelling... try to complete your main task, surely you will run into that someone... it could be behind any corner, waiting for someone to come in his/her help... just keep on with your main goal, and you'll end up meeting this person...

If you need more specific -and spoiling - information, ask for it... On the Travel Agent that you met, I don't recall seen him before :s

 

Yes, i want more information, thats why i asked for it.

As to that Travel Agent, i gave up on talking to him and getting nowhere.
After killing him a few times i reloaded and left.

One other point.
I think someone on here said that Mona in Nulb lets you travel to Verbobonc, something to do with recovering her orb, but i did that quest, gave her back that orb, and nothing was said about Verbobonc.

Mona lets you travel to Hickory branch.
If you are using 5.0.0 you can do it by
using the "parchment of challenge". If
you are using 5.0.3 you can simply travel
there through the world map.

 

IMO - For the Hickory Branch MOD, I suggest peops use the Co8 5.0.2 CMF or the 5.0.3 CMF update to the Co8 5.0.0 MOD.

 

err...no idea what you on about with Hickory branch. I thought that wasnt in 5.0.0.
and ive also no idea about that parchment. where do you get it? etc.

To give you some idea...im looking for information about the people who give you the options to go there and what quests i can do there.

As an update i have just stumbled upon someone who took me there, but was nothing to do wit my main quest. And the Travel Agent guy was there to take me back after id killed a lot of stuff. I just dont know why he appeared to me in a random encounter before i got to Verbobonc.

 

To download a CMF update to the Co8 5.0.0 MOD, click here. Please read the entire # 1 post that is linked. If it seems confusing, then, wait for the Co8 6.0.0 MOD to be released to play the Hickory Branch MOD. I suggest the Co8 5.0.2 CMF update to install over the Co8 5.0.0 MOD. All I will say is help Mona in Nulb with what she needs AND accept her offer of challenging adventure.

Going to Verbobonc is supposed to be a secret. When you play it the first time, you are supposed to be able to find it if you take the time to be helpful to humans when you start clearing the ToEE temple. I won't say more than that because you are NOT supposed to know about it before playing it.

i didnt ask about info on cmf updates, 5.0.3 etc.
i dont want to get them since id have to start the game again.

me, im all for sharing information, assuming i do find it all out by myself id be happy to tell anyone else who wanted to know.

 

Well... I think there were problems with the 5.0.0 mod
when going to Verbobonc. So don't blame me for trying
to help. The travel agent should be somewhere around
the alley where Y'dey was murdered

 

Ok, one last little question.

Are there any other things to do in Verbobonc after youve done the Drow/Dragon stuff and brought the two merchants back?

Ohh, and the guys in the 2nd floor of the Inn there dont say anything useful to me, ive heard theres a quest to do with them. My current party is Lawful Good.

Btw, i didnt see any point to the Merchants, it seemed you can get as good stuff from Smythe in Hommlet now. There certainly wasnt anything i wanted to buy off them..

Yes, nice scrolls shes got.

But, i meant is there anything beyond that?

 

HEr master returns later on in the game and then he sells other magic items... but no there are only 3-4 quests in verbobonc
