Hi all, new to the game and forums here.

Sorry if this has been posted before, did a search, couldn't find anything.

So I'm playing, all my characters are level one, I've installed the 2 patches and the no cd patch because my computer couldn't recognize the cd's.

Anyways. When casting magic missle, i have basically an unlimited amount I can cast. I just kept clicking and clicking, stopped at 10 cause i didn't know what would happen. Well 10 magic missles shot out of my wizard, but the game sorta froze, I could move my mouse but couldn't leave combat or bring up the menu.

Has anyone encountered this, or know what I need to do to disable it? Thanks

Known problem, try the Co8 patch.

Only 'cast' as many as u r allowed (1+another 1 per 2 levels for memory, check your manual) then hit 'space' to fire them, it only gives u issues if u try to use more than u r allowed.

As a more permanent fix, I believe it's moebius2778's temple.dll fix (and those text documents that come with it) that "fix" the 511 magic missile bug.

I was under the impression temple.zip caused the problem, due to the way he solved the looting bug and how the game then targeted things when you clicked them or something. Anyway, it was supposed to be fixed by the new spell rules from the data folder. Sounds to me like the dude replaced temple.dll and didn't transfer all the data folder stuff. Or am I confused?

yeah that's correct, I had the same problem when I first found this forum (and the patches).

the .txt files need to go into the root directory and the data folder included with the temple.dll needs to be put there too.
