    Just Curious:

Are any of the original Troika people who worked on ToEE involved in the Co8 mods?

Ooooo! Good question. I wonder what dark secrets and/or secret identities will be revealed?

Steve Moret helped Agetian discover the intricacies of the .mob files, I know that for deffinate, not sure if any other dev's have chipped in to help our efforts, but hats off to Steve, so much we can do now is due to his cooperation, IIRC most of (if not all of) the dev team recommend the Co8 mods to anyone they know who plays ToEE. I think that's something we can all be proud to boast about.

    Thanks Troika :tombstone

I had asked in a different thread if it was possibel to finally get the source code from Atari and/or Troika for ToEE, as they seemingly abandoned this game. The response was a resounding NO. But... if Steve Moret assisted us in the past, would it be possible that he could help us get the ToEE source code? Or if not provide the actual code, maybe provide a way for the Co8 team to access it a different way?

    Just wondering and exploring options.

The Troika guys are contractually prevented from doing stuff like that, so we don't ask. They have been (and are) as helpful as they can be.

I had wondered the same thing. I know this though, when the game crashes (at least on my computer) I am often given the option to "debug" it. I actually hit yes once (as it's been crashing a lot due to a bug in "Hickory Branch" (which I'll post in it's own thread unless I find a reference to it elsewhere).

Unfortunately, choosing to "debug" didn't help me much as everything is in assembler code (and my knowledge of assembler is extremely limited).

The point being, though, that if soemone does understand Assembler it is possible to make radical changes to the code. Unfortunately, it'd probably be a bigger headache than the average programmer would wish to endeavor...

Wonder if the source code is for sale and for how much, since atari is so anal about releasing it even after all these years. :thumbsdow

oh, happy new year to all!
