Not too long ago I went to considerable effort to try and finish the Deklo drow quest, only to finally ask here and learn that it is unfinished.

Now I have been waiting for some time for the assassin guild quest that the traders set me on to move along, but no dice. Without wasting a lot more of my time, is this also unfinished? One of them asked me to kill someone, I did, and that's it. Now I'm pissed that I've lost a valued merchant and have to sell certain items at half price.

Hahahahahahah! I can't believe you fell for that one. The people that gave you that mission are EVIL. And you believed them? They just wanted you to knock out some of their competition.

If I seem harsh, it is only because a certain person has recently implied that I am not, in fact, a meanie.

Well, keep up those kinds of posts, and no one will be questioning you on that one anymore

There is an assassin's guild, and having that reputation does help (a little) with them, but IMHO it's not worth loosing a trader over, epecially when you can buy masterwork wooden items from him.

Not finished?! At least they're darned quests now! ;)

More seriously, there may, in the distant future, be a more satisfying resolution but Mr.Zebedee's concept of getting things done is very, very slow.

Not anymore! The only thing I can get from him now are the daisies he's pushing. :drugdealer:

So I take it this is yet another half-done project? Can I once again ask that unfinished quests be removed from the Co8 mod?

(and if I seem harsh, it's because I spend all day with mentally-retarded teenagers and don't need yet one MORE unfinished thing in my life.)

Livonya added the initiate of the assassin's guild reputaion, and probably gave up on it soon after realizing she couldn't get it to make paladin's fall, she no longer posts on this forum.

Rufnredde started the drow letter thing, he's currently out of action due to injury.

We can all lodge our complaints and disapointments about Liv leaving our community, especially after all the goodies we never got our greedy mits on that she packed into her mod v2.0.

However sometimes (like in Rufnredde's case) real life intervenes and interupts the progress made by members of our group in making ToEE a better game.

    Bottom line is this...
If you like our mods, we're happy we could help make your game more enjoyable.
If you don't like our mods, either uninstall our mods, or learn how to mod ToEE yourself.

    We don't work for Atari.
We don't get paid to mod this game (we probably should, but that's beside the point).
We mod this game because we enjoy it, and want to improve it for our own enjoyment.

Modding is a hobby; the unpaid work is done by volunteers, and the only rewards are the pleasures of learning, seein your work in the game, the fun of being part of a community and (sometimes) the knowledge that others enjoy the work you've done.

When I got around to modding other games, tool kits were already in place that made most of what I wanted to do a snap. I don't mod ToEE, and I'm constantly impressed by the work the ToEE modders have managed to do while building a tool kit more or less from the ground up.

This is not to say that there's anything wrong with asking if this or that can be tweaked in a mod. Still, without Co8 the game would still be the beautiful failure it was when Atari released it. Worth remembering, eh?

These things will eventually get knocked off by someone, so don't sweat it. I expect that some things will never truly be complete for quite some time into the future, as there were plans to extend plots across the entire "dreamed of" series of modules being created. If you have some interest & the skills, it could be a place for you to begin. Many modders have gotten their start like this.

It's actually not a half-finished quest. It's as Blue says, a trick by the traders.

I hope you don't mean all teenagers, Aeroldoth.

And my darling Blue, you know I was kidding.

Well that seems silly. Since all it is is a basic hit job, why not be upfront with it? "Hey guys, go whack so-and-so and we'll give you 50 gp." The only parties who would do it would be other evil characters, and would you really want to promise something to known murderers, and then not deliver? You might find YOU'RE the next merchant on their list.

OTOH, it might make sense if the PCs had done the other "good" trader quests first. Hassling the courier, exposing the sabotage, reporting their evil ways, all might serve to really piss them off. So, they get a little of their own back by having you murder someone, and not even pay you for it. Maybe then you won't be so quick to report them when you yourself are guilty of cold-blodded murder.

Still, it's not a strategy _I_ would use in order to get someone whacked.

No, I mean the mentally-retarded ones that I work with. Most people don't know what lower-functioning means.

    :anger:

I've been waiting since forever for some chick to put Blue in his place and expose him as Warm n' Fuzzy. Ah well. He remains a hard-ass for now . . . ;)
